Choosing professors at orientation?

Do you get to choose your professors also at orientation? If I want a certain professor, does this mean I need to sign up for an earlier orientation session?

Yes and no. You can TRY to choose your professors, but there’s also logistical considerations, meaning you’ve got to be at the right place at the right time and it’s pretty hard to guarantee that the professor you want is going to be in that same place at that same time; i.e., you’ve got to make your schedule work.

And yes, if you don’t attend the earliest orientation I’m guessing you’re going to have slim pickings for classes.

Basically, earlier orientations equate to better professor choices.

It doesn’t really matter which orientation you end up going to. They save a certain amount of spots for each class, and open these up during each registration period throughout the summer. Basically, if you don’t get the classes you want you can wait for more to open up as orientations go on and steal 'em! The add/drop period at the beginning of the semester is also a time you can switch your classes around.
