Choosing Recommenders

Choose the one you think will be the stronger recommendation. The subject area they taught you is less important than the things they say about you as a student and as a person. Ideally, you want the teacher who says you are exceptional, one of the best they’ve seen. In addition to academic recommendations, choose the one more likely to say you are mature, self motivated, able to get along with others, and a lively addition to the classroom. Before deciding, have a conversation with the teacher and ask what he/she would be able to say about you in a recommendation. If you don’t get the answer you want, ask the other one.
