I am from India ( studying in class 11 ) and I wish to gain admission in at least one of the top 20 universities.
I am giving SAT and TOEFL by November, 2016. So, from when should I give my SAT subject tests and start preparing for college applications, essays, school recommendations, etc. Also, is it wise for me if I don’t get good SAT score, to take JEE-Mains classes in case of backup or I drop JEE exam idea and focus fully on other college application requirements.
I have the same schedule like you except I’m not into JEE . I will be giving math level 2 and world history as my subject tests in June of 2017 . Regarding college apps you should start preparing from now itself otherwise if you are skeptical about it you should look for a post regarding college apps and the timeline in the ‘India’ section itself . I cannot give you any advice about the JEE part however I have several friends who are balancing both JEE and college preparation . Just remember that a good SAT score is very important as in some cases only your SAT and essays will be used for evaluation.
