Hi. I am considering where to attend and I was wondering if UCI's CHP is worth it compared to like UCLA (Honors) and Berkeley. There seem to be many perks to CHP (more than for the UCLA honors), but for those who are current students, is it better than being at one of those top schools? Does it make a difference applying to med school from like UCI compared to a higher ranked school like Cal or UCLA? Thanks!

ok, this is all i know about the prestige coming into factor for grad school. i read in some college book (i think us news not sure tho). prestige of the undergrad comes into context when you apply to a business or law school but for med schools, gpa outweighs the prestige by a large margin. so if you think you can get a high gpa at both ucla and uci, go ucla. but if you feel like uci will be easier, go uci.

CHP is a great program here on campus. You are able to take a lot of classes that are in a smaller more interactive environment. There are a lot of plusses that you should look up. I have no idea what UCLA's honors program is like but CHP at UCI, I think, is a very dedicated honors program. I think it's way better than UCD's. Med schools will factor in the college differences by giving more "points" towards the students from UCLA and UCB over UCI. So if you got to UCI you are expected to perform with a higher GPA.
