Christmas breakfast

What do you do in the morning of xmas for breakfast?

Open presents! (Sorry, couldn’t resist).
We usually get so much candy and stuff that we don’t plan a nice Christmas breakfast.
Sometimes we do eventually make Belgian waffles, and if we have some people here, bacon to go with them.

Christmas breakfast is a long held family tradition and we eat on it all day long. We always have a green chili egg casserole, baked cheese grits with sausage and baked cinnamon french toast. Many years I’ve also included pumpkin apple bread but may switch that up a bit this time.

Christmas breakfast is a family tradition in our house too. We always have Belgian waffles with whipped cream and fruit, quiche, and sausage/bacon. Tea, coffee, and mimosas too.

Family tradition is that Santa brings our kids each a box of their favorite junk food cereal so that ends up being breakfast, even now that they are older. Sometimes I make monkey bread, coffee cake or cinnamon rolls.

This year there will only be the two grown ups. We will have bacon, eggs, toast, juice and coffee. The coffee will be first.

I used to make an egg casserole, but a few years ago we tried Kwik Trip Sunrise Pizza. I pick up a frozen one and thaw it in fridge overnight Christmas Eve.

Yes, it’s a convenience store breakfast pizza. But it has a croissant crust, and my family loves it. And it’s one less thing for me to make!

Cheese straws and sausage rolls (made ahead and reheated), plus sparkling wine, while opening presents

One sweet french toast casserole and one savory sausage egg and cheese casserole. Both made the night before, stored in the fridge and cooked in the oven in the morning while presents are opened. Super easy and I would NOT consider myself skilled in the kitchen. Family gobbles them up.

We don’t end up eating breakfast till it’s more like brunch because we do presents first. Also don’t go overboard because we have our extended family get together at 1 or 2 while we have a big spread.

Usually I either make cinnamon rolls the night before that just get baked in the morning or an overnight breakfast casserole that gets baked while we open gifts

I think I will make Brazilian cheese bread to go with the bacon, eggs, yogurt, and fruit we usually eat.

The five of us always had scrambled eggs w/cheese, toast and sausage, and oj. Our tradition was that stockings were opened in bed and breakfast was before the rest of the presents. I grew up with that and loved the suspense.

Oh and tangerines from the stockings…Santa always brought them.

Now I live alone in a small place and one daughter will be here. We will probably have granola bars!

Cinnamon rolls and coffee first and with presents. Then brunch with grits, bacon and eggs and must include cut up grapefruit and oranges.

My MIL sends the Swiss Colony breakfast gift basket every year. Boys love the apple cinnamon pancakes so much she ships two baskets for the last couple years. You cannot just order the pancake mix and only comes with the basket. I have tried many other mixes, recipes online and nothing compares.
