What's the best internet browser and why?

Firefox–adblock–probably a number of other reasons too.

Firefox. Hands down.

Firefox. Any day.

Firefox has been screwing up so much lately on my computer, so it is getting more annoying. IE is slow as crap. Chrome… I used it in beta so maybe that is why I don’t like it, but I just think firefox has more features…

The other two I can’t speak for. At the moment it’s firefox, though.

I have Internet Explorer currently, but seeing as how I’d ideally want to block this site, I’m under the impression that I’m going to need to switch to Firefox. Solely downloading the program hasn’t been effective, so I think that I need to set it as my default browser. Firefox is beneficial due to its blocking program, something that Internet Explorer doesn’t possess.

Psh. Chrome wins. So much more than IE and Firefox.

And I’m not saying this out of sentimentality either. Check the stats/technical stuff.

I’m sorry for doing this to you. XD

Lol, it’s ok:) I feel that the benefits outweigh the negative aspects associated with it anyway.

I argued this somewhere before.

I wouldn’t say anyone in particular is better. ( I’m currently using firefox though )

Internet Explorer is the most secure. And that’s a fact. Before anyone challenges me on that let me finish (lol). IE is used by 65% percent of the population and is therefore attacked the most. Although IE does have it’s fair share of problems, it protects the most and the best in ratio to the people used.

Firefox is the fastest. By the personal experience, i can say that i haven’t had any problem with speed at all and security is also accelerating fast!

Chrome is relativity new. I’ve used it and that’s what my brother uses it since he had issues with firefox. I would say it’s a standard browser. It has some very good security setting such as their ‘incognito’ feature and automatically records your most visited sites (if you want) and puts them up in about 9 boxes when you open a new tab. Solid browser.

Safari is pretty good. (mainly Mac users as we all know). I would say to make a transition from the traditional browser layout to Safari would be quite difficult. Safari has more of a sleeker look to it which is honestly hard to skip.

Opera…hmmm…I’ve only used opera on my (now broken) NDS. So not much to say here but it had a great widgets and full internet suite! It was good.

It all comes down to what you want and picking your poison.

I find Chrome the fastest which is most important for me.

Also with the new extensions, Chrome now has adblock. Yay!

Chrome is my favorite.
Use Firefox occasionally.
Hate IE.

Yup. Chrome is definitely the fastest.

And the new extensions are cool too. Plus, the whole browser doesn’t crash when something goes wrong. Only the tab that’s causing problems dies and you can save the rest of your browser, which is something that Firefox doesn’t do.

IE is just…horrible. I don’t get why so many people still use it. It needs to die.

If only commonapp were supported by chrome… if only…

Chrome is easily now number 1. Firefox’s only claim otherwise used to be its available add-ons such as Ad-block. Chrome now utilizes the same add-ons (including Ad-block) and has developed new, more innovative ones.

Chrome - Firefox (distant second) - Safari - Opera

IE doesn’t deserve to be in the same list.

Firefox
Chrome
Safari

IE

I don’t really know anything about Opera, but I assume it’s better than IE.

I actually just tried chrome again and it seems to be significantly faster than FF.

Chrome is garbage. Within weeks of it coming out hundreds of exploits started being released. Of course, it being open source I fully support it. The open source nature of chrome could probably be the reason why so many exploits have been found. One can simply view the source code for any apparent vulnerabilities without using other techniques of security analysis. I hope that it will get better soon.

Firefox

Opera

Chrome

Lynx

IE is garbage as well

^ For the longest time, that was the sole reason why I was against Chrome. However, over the past year the developers have done a fairly good job of patching up any 0day exploits and other vulnerabilities with which Chrome suffered. Chrome’s security features have gotten a lot more effective, and I think it can be considered rather competitive with Firefox.

But I’d still choose Firefox over any other browser. For sentimental reasons lol. Maybe when I figure out how to really work Chrome, I’ll reconsider.

I agree. Google is full of extremely smart people who want to revolutionize the way we go about our lives. After all, firefox has been out for a while and thus has stood the test of time. Exploits have been patched, etc. which of course leads to great performance. I can’t wait until the day where chrome has accomplished the same things. Chrome is already on the correct track.
