I will make this quick and short but I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis in 2010 officially. I had been having weird symptoms in 2009 but wasn't sure what it was. My GPA heading into 2010 was 3.2 The disease heavily affected my grades for that year as I was flaring and had a major flare late in 2010 which lead to eventual hospitalization.

SP2010: F, C, B, AR(academic renewal)
S2010: B (retook the F from the previous semester)
F2010: AR, B, C

GPA: 2.56

After that I was able to get the disease into remission and my grades have been basically all A's and two B's. GPA after 2010: 3.85 and rising if I continue to get A's.

My question is, will this greatly impact my chances? My UC GPA is hovering at around 3.3-3.4 depending on how I do in my current classes. I don't know how a university will view this. I'm afraid they will view it as a liability and not accept me. Also will they take into consideration how I did after my diagnosis? Since then I have been in remission for the most part and have to start infusions in about a month. Any help is appreciated thank you.
