Church

Are there any church of Christ members at the USMMA? I have a question about local churches.

pretty much any demonination you can think of, there's a church for it somewhere near by.

or the many temples

Hopefully Is2day will be able to introduce our kids to the bible study group and also to the Sat. night college ministry at Morningstar......when do you go to sea? Praying you'll be around at least for a little after indoc.

yeah, most definitely. it's pretty exciting to see what God's been doing around our school lately. it's actually funny cause it's got the people in charge all confused because things are starting to change on campus and they can't explain it. God is good! there's plenty of good churches in the area in addition to the chapel. i can't speak for the incoming chaplain (he'll be here by indoc) but i know this chaplain was willing to help you fiind a good church off campus if you decided that's what you wanted.

the new chaplin is a Roman Catholic, good guy he just was just assigned her from diego garcia.

there's going to be a new protestant chaplain this summer...

It must be the influence of an ordained minister as Deputy Superintendent.

c'mon LFWB dad....don't leave me hanging here...

Deputy Superintendent Chris McMahon is an amazing guy. Not only is he a licensed Master, he took time off to get his Divinity degree at UC Berkley and be ordained, he built the Global Maritime and Transportation School at KP and then was asked to be the DOT senior representative in Iraq right after the fall of Baghdad. After Katrina, he was asked by Sec. Mineta to lead the re-establishment of transporation into New Orleans.

He is the perfect compliment to Adm Stewart and they make a great team that is very good for KP

whoa, that's interesting, i had no idea. sweet action!

that is so great. i know there are so many seniors and others who have been a great influence in our midshipmen. God is good!!!!!! amen!

I agree with LFWBDad about RADM McMahon. Met him a few weeks ago & he is not only delightful in his presence but cares so much for our kids. KP is lucky to have this grad come back & do such great things for the academy & GMATS. If any of you should have the chance, do go out of your way to meet him. You'll come away, very glad you did. :)

I believe Chaps (Protestant Chaplain) is Church of Christ. The Catholic Church just got a new MC Chap to replace the one still here as his assignment has changed...

Just talked with the church of Christ chaplain and he will be transfering out around July 1. Are there any midshipmen there from the church? He thought there were some from the Texas area.

I am ELCA Lutheran but I frequently visit other churches/denominations.
