What bank would you recommend a freshman have an account in? Is one more available on campus than another?

Definitely Chase. So many more branches around.

Chase all the way

Definitely Chase - they are very convenient in the Washington Square/Union Square area.

Thank you!

PNC is good too.

What about Wells Fargo?

Citibank is also a good option because there is a citibank located in the NYU shipping and mail department. Also, I believe Citibank’s headquarters are in NYC so that’s always a plus.

D had Wells Fargo and it was challenging to find convenient ATMs and Banks. I would definitely do Chase. More branches everywhere.

Another vote for Chase. All Duane Reades’s have Chase ATM’s. And some of these Duanes are open 24/7 and so making them extremely safe, accessible and convenient for NYU students. Also the nearest ATMs I know are one behind Hayden and one right next to Tisch/Stern Building making it really easy for Freshman. And the Chase guys set up their stall right outside Goddard during Orientation week and guide you through the whole process of opening an account.
