ucsb financial aid:
Original documents are required for verification. APPLICANTS MUST PRESENT ORIGINAL CITIZENSHIP AND IMMIGRATION
DOCUMENTS IN PERSON to the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships. Photocopies will not be accepted. Do NOT send
original documents by mail, as the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships is not responsible for safeguarding them. Your
information may be sent to the Department of Homeland Security for confirmation.
• Signed Social Security Card AND one of the following documents:
o Certificate of Citizenship; OR
o Certificate of Naturalization; OR
o U.S. Passport; OR
o A photocopy of Form FS-240: “Report of Birth Abroad of a U.S. Citizen” bearing the embossed seal
including the words “United States of America” and “State Department”

please answer because i really don't know what to do.

I got the same thing but luckily I don’t live that far away from UCSB. I received the same notification from other universities and they made me either email/scan/fax them a copy and they said that once I SIR that they will need to see the original documents. Now that i SIR’d to UCSB they want to see the original documents. Try calling their office directly, they are very helpful.
