Hi, I am currently pursuing Computer Engineering at CCNY and believe me it’s a great college in Academics, at least in Engineering. I am an year away from graduation and never felt bad for having joined here. All the professors I had here so far were great, I learned a lot and I am very confident of my education from here. Besides it costs very less.

I believe college is what you make out of it, given that there is some minimal standard in the college itself. I applied to Harvard, Princeton, MIT and they all rejected me. Then applied to Rutgers, Purdue, Penn State, SUNY StonyBrook got accepted into all of them, but finally chose to come to CCNY(for some reasons). All I mean to say that I was a high-flyer and never considered CCNY but still I am Very Happy with it.

I plan to go to Grad School even at a private university by taking loan, because that one year of education makes a lot of difference in the kind of pay and job you can get.

I can tell you that CCNY requires students to score a C or better in certain specific classes (oddly enough, similar to University of Central Florida). If the program is ABET accredited, there will be a minimum standard that the school has t meet.

I have no idea if there are places where getting a C is similar to getting a B or even an A. I would imagine that at most places, getting a C is a matter of showing up to class and doing some homework.

I am ccny graduate and have poly grads, manhattan college grads, cornell grads, columbia grads working with me hand in hand
education matters if you know how to use it, use common sense, and know how to present yourself in the work place, most important quality in your career are probably patience, effective communications skills (dont forget about effective though:)) focus, motivation and determination, the rest will come easy. good luck

I graduated in CCNY in 1983 in Chemical Engineering. Paid all tuitions myself by working in restaurants in the summer and in the labs during semesters. Chemical Engineering was ranked much higher than Civil Engineering. I then went to University of Wisconsin-Madison for my PhD. No sweat.

I’m planning on taking some courses at City for my post bacc in order to fulfill my pre reqs. Are Chemistry, Physics and the like, insanely hard at this school? Note that I will need to maintain a very high GPA in order to get into Med School.
