City Planning - Anyone?

Seriously interested in becoming a city regional planner. I have already shadowed my local city planner for a day and the job seemed really intriguing and combined all my favorite passions; Debate, Design and the overall ability to genuinely help people. This post is just to see if there are any college students, professors or really just anyone who has knowledgeable information about whether or not this is a good career choice and how well the major is supported in college.

Any feedback would be much appreciated! :)

Usually, it’s a graduate field of study.
At the undergrad level, major in geography, urban studies, or one of the social science fields, e.g., sociology, economics, or political science. Alternatively, you could major in various professional fields, e.g., civil/environmental engineering, architecture, real estate, or landscape architecture.
