Does anyone know any universities famous for high job placement rate for international students? I'm planning to apply for civil engineering undergrad next year, and job prospects after graduation would really affect my decision (I would prefer to work in the US).

Well, [Cal Poly San Luis Obispo](http://www.careerservices.calpoly.edu/gradsurvey/) had an impressively high civil engineering job placement rate even in 2009 (the worst year of the construction crash). Of course, civil engineering job placement rates can be highly cyclical – almost any graduate could have gotten a job in 2005 or 2006, but many did not in 2009.

Some other universities, like [UC Berkeley](https://career.berkeley.edu/Major/Major.stm), also have career surveys with sufficient detail.

But if you will need a work visa to work in the US, that can be an additional complication, since many employers do not want to deal with the hassle.

Thanks for the links!

Then would going to a large public with a good engineeering program, like Berkeley or Michigan, help?

Also, any info on which employers would be willing to deal with the hassle of getting visas? I have only heard of a large firm called URS.
