I was wondering about the opportunity in 5 schools. Does a student outside Pomona have the same opportunity to have its Physics classes as a student of Pomona? Thanks~

The schools are interchangeable in most cases. For example, my daughter wanted a Creative Writing major but Pitzer’s program was with a poetry professor which is of no interest to her. He referred her to the CW prof at Pomona who was more to her writing style and where she would be taking most of her CW classes. Pitzer used to be their Ceramics school but Scripps received a big grant to establish them as the best Ceramics program in the consortium so Pitzer was closing their Ceramics program down and if my daughter was interested in Ceramics she would need to take those classes at Scripps.

Oh, sorry, I just reread your question, and I’m not certain as to priority registration in your particular college. I do know they emphasized cross-registration and the ease of it, but reality is another issue.

Hi, I am a current Scripps first-year!

Registration seems pretty easy. It goes by the number of credits you have (year standing: seniors first, me and my friends last haha). There are some departments that are closed to other schools (Core for example is only for Scripps students) but for the most part I can easily take Chinese at Pomona.

Specifically in regard to physics, I just now went and looked at my Scripps course catalog (5C catalog) to register for next semester and it says I am eligible to take the General Physics with Lab class at Pomona (though most of my classmates take it through the 3C Joint Keck Science department). I am also eligible to register for a Quantum Physics class.
