If i was interested in a major in neuroscience, which Claremont college should I go to?
I know almost all of them have some strong aspect in science, while Pitzer has psychology. I know that neuroscience involves not only biology, but also psychology.

i want to go into neuroscience and my first choice claremont is scripps followed by pitzer…i am not applying to the other three

Whichever school you apply to, you can take classes somewhere else. Actually, if there’s a major not offered at your school, you can take classes at an entirely different school…but the name on the diploma is still the one you applied to.

Neuroscience is pretty popular here at Pomona

The Joint Science Program, which encompasses Scripps, Pitzer, and Claremont McKenna, offers a neuroscience major, with either a cognitive (mostly psych) or molecular (mostly science) focus. I had several friends who completed the neuroscience major through JSD (most cognitive track, one on the molecular track), and all of them were extremely happy with the program and their experience.

Pomona also offers a neuroscience program that I’m sure is also excellent, given the quality of the school. Harvey Mudd does not offer a neuroscience major.

So the neuroscience program at Pomona is different from that of JSD?
I really like Claremont McKenna, but their focus is more on political stuff than science. Would that affect my major there, or is it okay through JSD?

Yes. Pomona does not offer science through JSD, so their major is different and may have different requirements.

It may impact some things like your ged-eds at CMC (check their website for details on that), but the neuroscience major will be no different than if you did it through Pitzer or Scripps.
