If one was accepted to both of these schools which one would you choose and why?

CMC of course!!!

CMC, no brainer IMO

Without any doubt, CMC.

this is kind of a silly question to ask. not because the answer is so blatantly obvious, but because you are posting on a CMC board. Im sure you would get all the people on the colgate board saying without a doubt that they would choose colgate.

So, if i try to evaluate this question objectively, here's what i do know (and i do know very little about colgate, though i have a few friends who go there... really all i know about colgate is that its a great school and no matter which you pick you are going to end up fine). so, if im trying to answer this i try to look at what CMC can bring to the table that colgate or most other schools cannot. First, and though you might not think this is important but it is, is the weather. Its early november and i was wearing khaki shorts and a t-shirt today. try that in new york.

the gem of CMC, the athenaeum, is also key. Many other schools will have a speaker series, but not speakers mon-thurs for the entire year who usually turn out to be fairly interesting, engaging and intellectually stimulating.

also, the social life at colgate, from what i understand, is dominated by frats and such. 1. CMC pays for beer at the parties and 2. there is no exclusion from parties. Everyone on campus gets invited to every event, so i dont have to roll with 4 hot girls to get into a party

also you may want to look at what areas of study you are interested in. CMC is ridiculous at econ, politics and IR. I dont know what colgate is good at though.

Frankly youll probably be fine at either of them, but look at fit of social life and unique aspects of the school. what does one have that the other doesnt? is this thing important to you and would you rather have one college's uniqueness over the others? personally i would rather go to CMC

lol I saw that ecsdms posted the same thread in the Colgate forum

I visited both. CMC is still on my list, Colgate isn't. That's all I have to say(at least for me).
