Clark Scholars 2012

I got less than 210 on my PSAT, but got 35 on my ACT. I did MITE at UM and STEM at the navy academy last year. Do I have a chance of getting in?

Absolutely.

Everyone who applies has a chance of getting in. No one who does not apply has no chance to get in.

hi! quick question- when they ask for copies of SAT scores, can they just be printouts, copies of the paper score report, or do they have to be the official Collegeboard thing that they mail you?

Just print the unofficial scores out.

“is the 1 page essay supposed to be about our awards and honors or is it more about who you are and what made u become involved in science?”

I also am wondering what is required in the essay. Can someone give some advice?

Thanks!

The essay should be more personal and about you instead of about your awards and honors (put those things on your activities/resume portion). Think of the essay as a college style admissions essay in which you reveal part of your personality.

ok thanks apoc!

Would it look bad if I didn’t include a rec. from a mentor even though I did independent research?
She just had a baby so I couldn’t really ask her.

I think you meant: No one who does not apply nas no chance to not get in.

Too many negatives, but I think you are right. Ugh school is getting to my head …

Does anyone know if we can send more than three recs?

^I advise against sending more than 3 recs…thats just overkill.

Sent from my SGH-T959V using CC App

How are you guys sending your test scores? My school doesn’t attach them to the transcript…

For example, how do I give proof of my PSAT Scores?

^from earlier posts, I think you just photocopy the hard copy your school gave you in December.

Today has been a stressful day of last-minute preparation to try to get all of my reference letters. Apparently, I neglected to realize that they all had to be in sealed, signed envelopes! One of my references is out of town, and another left his letter at the state capitol building three hours away! (This reference is a state representative, not a teacher.) I’m hoping I can somehow still get everything together in time, haha! Anybody else experiencing any problems, or is it just me? :P

They leave one slot for “other:” under test scores; is that for SAT II’s?

What should I do if in my second semester of freshman year and first semester of sophomore year I had difficulty seeing, and my grades got low because I couldn’t see the lectures. Should I write a letter about it?

Or TOEFLs, perhaps.

Your counselor should.

chaseholl is honestly a champion <3

TheJJ, I’m a little confused as to why you have a State Rep writing your rec, considering that the application said to get recs from three teachers… but whatever. Good luck getting your app together.
