Lubbock area code is 806.

I called today and they said it will take them another two weeks to go through the rest of applications.

Oh for heaven’s sake, this is ridiculous…

Got rejected today. Woohoo, I’m going to HSHSP!

StudiousMaximus, good for you! I believe we all will benefit a lot more from other programs which took our applications seriously and in a more organized manner. Best luck to you at HSHSP. You will do great there :)

dreamhuge, thanks! I do think HSHSP has done a much better job than Clark with the admissions process (HSHSP began releasing decisions about a month after the deadline). To those who do end up making Clark, however, it’s a great opportunity, and I hope you love it!

Yay rejections! Got mine today too.

Time to contact a local professor to see if I can do research in his lab. I know this isn’t Clark-related, but any tips?

Rejected – now I can confirm my attendance to HSHSP with no doubts :D

@researchin: My advice for contacting possible mentors is always to START EARLY. Like NOW. Depending on your location, the professors might be very generous and eager to accept students into their laboratories or exactly the opposite. Either way, if you’re persistent enough, you should be able to get something. :)

Accepted! Got email this morning! In California.

congrats. What area of research did u choose ? Who will be your mentor ? What did the email say ?

ugh im really mad, i still havent heard anything about my application

should i confirm doing research with the professor that said he’d accept me, or wait until i get either my rejection or acceptance to clarks?

@trackanhp7 - Hold on. Lets hope we all know by end of the week. Maybe you can tell the professor next week. My 2 cents

Awesome pokemon14!! What time did you get the call? Did Dr. San Francisco (or someone else from Clark) say anything about how many others were accepted?

Hey, hope you have a blast at Clark!

^^ Pokemon14 got a email

thanks yetanotherid! Does that mean the top 12 have been notified?

Hey reaserchin for tips on researching with a local prof:

I e-mailed a hundred professors at a university close to my house. To the one that finally accepted me- I sent him a cover letter and resume. Everything was over the top. He was a professor used to working with high school students though, so I actually got lucky because he was more willing to work with younger researchers. But I definitely recommend impressing the professors and saying why you’re interested in their research. Best of luck!

I don’t think all the 12 have been notified. Somebody had called and was told its not done yet.

Thank-you for answering so quickly! Especially when our programs are not I guess there is still hope then…

Do you have plans for elsewhere?

Got my acceptance email at 6:31AM from MICHAEL.SANFRANCISCO@ttu.edu/email ):

Dear ---------:
I apologize for the delay in getting in touch with you, but we have selected you as a Clark Scholar this year. We have identified a mentor for you in mathematics.
Congratulations…
Please let me know as soon as possible. Thank you,

Michael

So obviously acceptances are a bit late but at least they’re on the way now!

(PS Just made a collegeboard account for this so don’t be thrown off by the lack of posts/newness)

edit: California, last name Z, submitted app early

Congrats fadedumbre25. 2 down and 10 to go. I wonder what Academic area pokemon14’s kid got in to.
