Clark Scholars Texas Tech?

I hate the idea of "received by" >_>;;;

I sent two applications (certified) for different programs on Saturday, one was in Massachusetts, the other at TT (obviously). The one in Massachusetts notified me of receiving it today; I'm in Georgia, so it is about equal distance. Hopefully they will "receive it by" Friday.

I think they wudn't be too strict...since they wudn't start selecting until the monday of course...idk...if something doesn't reach by friday it shud reach by monday...but oh well...it's just a summer program...so, I don't rllly care at this point if it doesn't reach them on time and they don't even look at my applicatoin for being late by a day! (i hope that's not the case for anyone!)

I think they specified "received by" Friday since they were expecting lateness like this, lol...lateness which would carry to Monday.

^lawl....may be!

Does anyone know when we will be notified of acceptance/rejection roughly?

Anyone feel like emailing the person in charge and asking them when acceptions/rejections will go out? I've already emailed him a few times regarding seperate issues, so I don't want to seem overbearing. The email addresses are listed on Texas Tech University :: Clark Scholars Program

^Mid-late April.

How did you all find out your packages were received? Did they call you?

This is to inform you that your application to the Clark Scholars
Program has been received and is complete. Selection for the 2008
Clark Scholars will be made in mid to late April. We will notify you
of your standing when selection has been made.

they r emailing ppl individually I think and letting them know.

eek my app will be like 2 days late...is that ok......

Uh, considering it's the weekend it'd probably be more than 2 days. If you're sending from New Jersey TONIGHT, I estimate probably Tues/Wed next week. You should've used overnight shipping... Since results come out April, I'm not sure how much it would affect the application. I mean, if they were to consider lateness it'd only be political. But make sure you get an email confirmation from Ms. Durham (she'll email you) because one of my teachers' recommendations got lost from my state on the east coast to Texas and I had to send another one. I've lost a lot of mail through USPS but if you sent a package it'd likely be less risky.

Oh my gosh wouldn't it be awesome if the majority of us are able to get in? I mean, this program is not very well known and CC is one of the biggest promoters.

haha, I'm sure there are many more lurkers who haven't posted on this thread

like me

Why don't people post? _

nothing to say?

because i dunno anything about all these summer programs. it's my first time applying and i have no real science background or anything

So, what field of study did you guys apply for?

<--1st choice philosophy, 2nd choice history

Ehh, I forgot somewhat.

I think:

Chemical Engineering

Biochemistry

Since those seemed the most interesting.

Mathematics

English

Music
