Hey. So im really struggling with this.
i recently got into clark university on a partial scholarship. My family is going to have to contribute about 30k a year.
This is a LOT of money.
My only other option is taking a gap year and improving my grades and reapply.(which i dont really have a problem with)
I do, however, run the risk of not getting in anywhere next year.
Is Clark worth the money? If i get a decent GPA at Clark, are things going to work out fine? Or should i take the risk and reapply next year?
You can ask Clark to defer your admission for a year. Tell them you’d like to take a gap year - no big deal, American students do it all the time. Just don’t mention that you’d like to use the year to re-apply to colleges.
Clark is a great school. I have no idea of your financial situation so I can’t say if it’s “worth it” but I can say that there are many opportunities to succeed for someone who does well there,
How would you finance these 30k?
What do you plan to major in?
Deferring for a year sounds like the wisest option - considering they contacted you so late, they must expect you had other plans for next year which you have committed to, and if that does not include attending college, it’s perfectly allowed.
