What would one do in a gap year if they decide to defer the admission offer a year? My ideal would be to work, but I wouldn't want that extra income to count against me when the financial aid application season comes around again. I didn't meet the priority deadlines this year, so I'm afraid that when my package comes back, I won't have enough aid. My family's income is around 61k, which is just above the 100% tuition and housing guarantee >_> .

What do you guys think I should do? My mom says to just continue with the registration process for the Class of 2016, and hope for the best package possible. Opinions?

P.S. I delayed the financial aid materials because my mom chose to finally file her taxes a couple weeks ago
