CLAS foreign language requirement:

I am a bio major (preprofessional); freshman, and i have to fulfill the Foreign language requirement. I took spanish from 6-11th grade, so from what I understand I have the opportunity to go ahead into Accelerated Spanish Review (SPN 1134). Does anyone have a general review of the class, difficulty and professor recommendations? I am a bit rusty in the language but did well in high school, any input is well appreciated.

And when should I be advised to take it, now or next fall? I am a little nervous about taking chem 2 next fall and possibly this spanish class if I find out it is difficult. This spring I am registered for gen chem, pre-clac, end 1102 and abnormal psych, could I add the spanish class and be okay?

I don’t know anything about FL classes at UF, but if you feel like you understand the language well enough; you can take the SAT II subject test for spanish. If you score well enough it will count as your spanish requirement. Talk to your advisor about it.

Or if you’re like me and hate foreign languages… just transfer over to the Ag bio preprofessional track. ^_^.

Also don’t take Horvath for CHM2046! He’s a beast!
