Who choose the class Exemplar? Sup., Comm., First Class? Was reading about General Olds, and after his memorial services this summer thought he would be a great Exemplar and a nice memory for the family.

The freshman class chooses their exemplar by popular vote sometime second semester. The choices are nominated by the class as a whole and the final candidates for the vote chosen by an exemplar committee.

They find out at the conclusion of Recognition, so the vote comes a couple months before that, if I remember correctly.

While Olds doesn't have that cool Star Wars LUKE ring, it would still be a great way to honor and outstanding pilot.

Olds is definitely a great choice, and i think we've got a good chance of picking him since all of 2011 should know who he is, he died during our first semester here after all!

Only thing after that would be changing "Endless Horizons" to "11 get it done"

Yeah, our whole basic squadron (aggressors) pretty much agreed that Olds needs to be our exemplar. Hopefully that'll help the vote.

Hard to go wrong with a two-war triple-ace who earned stars...

I got an email from potterfan forwarding her dad's suggestion, and I personally think Olds would make a great exemplar. I just chose the CICs for our class exemplar project yesterday, and we've already had a couple of meetings about it. I'm dropping the suggestion to the committee. I'm not exactly sure how everything is going to be run yet, but I'll keep you guys posted as things progress (there's still a lot of time :)) but I do know that our class is going to vote as a whole sometime in the beginning of 2008. And thanks for the awesome suggestion, ds52262!

As far as our class motto goes, I don't know how wild anyone is going to be about telling General Regni that they don't like his choice of Endless Horizons. But we'll see. :)

'11 git-r-done!

Redhead with all that enthusiasm and bright smile I am sure you could make him change the motto and think it was his idea. Keep up the good work and study your knowledge for the test this week.

Or he may just agree to get the "fire" out of his face faster. ;) Naw, I think you could give him a good case!

haha, we were doing a lab in Chemistry yesterday and an instructor came in from another classroom and was joking around saying that he came in because he thought that there was a fire. My hair. Amazing how creative people can be. America's best and brightest right there. :)

"First Group reports: Two cadets absent, sir!" - "Thank you, sir!"

"Second Group reports: Zero cadets absent, sir!" - "Thank you, ma'am!"

"Third Group reports: One cadet absent, sir!" - "Thank you, sir!"

"Fourth Group reports: One cadet absent, sir!" - "Thank you, sir!"

"OOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLDDDDDDSSSSSS!"

Nice to see the CC crowd behind Olds. He was a real Maverick. I believe some of his family lives in Co. too, and it would be a great gesture.

keep dreaming, pete...it's 3 years away. :)

Only 2 more until Luke is screamed across the Terrazo...:D

LUUUUUUUUUUKE! Or FRANK! :)

I think the best would be a resounding chewbacca sound. :) :) :)

YES!! hahaha that's amazing. can chewbacca be our class exemplar?

The REAL question is, can anyone make a sound like a Chewbacca roar and make it sound GOOD?

haha during first beast our cadre named our flight the "chewie" flight since our flight was c flight. everytime we marched we had to make the chewbacca roar beforehand.

2010's Exemplar Dinner last night was amazing. Watching the video that the exemplar committee created about Frank Luke and then listening to his nephew and Mr. Skinner speak was truly inspiring. He's the perfect exemplar for an RTB class. Last night was a great reminder of why we're at the Academy.

Well done, 2010. We have a lot to live up to.
