i'm such a geek, i'm always on about how they had to cut back from 8 classes to 7 and i want to take another :)

i'm planning on going to the local yet nice university (i'll get in without a problem) and saving an incredible amount of money then going to a nice, expensive grad school.

There's always the problem of grade inflation that you have to take into account. A's at one school doesn't equate to A's at another school. I guess the AP exam somehow smoothes the difference out...though it's kind of funny considering that for most AP exams only a 60-70 percent is needed to get a 5, the top score, so for the people getting threes and fours, do they know only 40-50 percent of the course? Then doesn't that mean they don't know enough of the course to "pass" not the AP exam but the equivalent college course? Oh well. I'm getting off topic. Sorry.

oasis: that's true. i have a 6.3 on a 7-point scale, but considering that no one ever gets above a 6.7 unweighted it's honestly not that bad (i'd estimate it's equivalent to a 3.8, not 3.6, but then our courses are generally more challenging than usual college prep). supposedly someone from my school got into brown with a 5.8, but i don't know if that's true. he had really good ecs though (lead in all school plays since middle school, directed and performed in a play, etc). i really hope colleges will take the grading scale into consideration because otherwise i'm screwed...

ECs: DRAMA/THEATRE GEEK!! I love to act and build sets. Its my passion.

anyone else here on 6 day cycle schedules??

This summer i'm taking an astronomy course in the local community college. Hopefully I can take some concurrent enrollment classes next year (if i'm not doing any fall plays)

The number of people here taking more than three AP classes is seriously scaring me. I'm now very happy that I don't go to a more competitive, better ranking school, since otherwise I'd be pressured to take more than 3 AP's. My schedule next year is as follows:

French IV Honors
Physics Honors
Music History Honors
Pre-Calc Accelerated
PE
AP English (equivalent of AP Lit - but we don't call it that, since AP Eng is actually a two-year program at our school)
AP Bio

I don't have my schedule for sure, but this is what i signed up for.

AP BIO (4 quarters)

AP Stat (3 quarters)
AP Calc AB, hopefulyl self-studying the BC part (3 quarters)

My school is on the block schedule. And theres a good chance I won't get the schedule that I want due to conflicts.

My schedule:

AP English
AP Bio

hoorah for catholic schools that require you to take religion classes which could've been used as other acceptable college credits!!!!

....(or not...)

has been revised to get

IB Chemistry HL
IB English A1 HL
IB French A1 HL
IB Math Methods SL
IB History SL
IB Art SL
Journalism
Theory of Knowledge

I will be taking ONLY three APs

AP Chem
AP Psychology
AP US History

Will colleges see that these were the only APs (and maximum number of APs) that I was allowed to take for my Junior year?

don't worry, colleges look at your transcript and compare it to the availibility of classes at your school. so if you took all the aps they offer, then it's perfectly fine. they won't discredit you for not taking more, becuase they aren't even available in your school.

It is also important to do well on AP exams and in AP classes, because 2s won't look well on your transcript. It is important to take the most challenging classes your school offers, but it is more important to do well in classes.
