Hey! Lonefreckle, I'm from Cape Cod! I didn't think anyone else from around this area (the East coast) was going all the way to USC too. What school/major are you going for?

I was recently taken off the Duke waitlist, so I will not be attending USC anymore as Duke was my number one choice. Have fun in SoCal!

Congrats on going to Duke! I hope you are happy there.

I just got into the fall (from originally being a spring admit) so I'll see you all in September!! I'm really excited to be there for everthing, especially the football. =)

FIGHT ON!

^ Congratulations!!! :) I hope to see you in the fall.

Whoooo-hooooo! Massachusetts all the way!

BTW, all of you should post your decision to attend USC on the Master Decision thread in the Parents Forum.

Some advice for 2010 class "fresh meat":
-Good luck with WRIT 140 class; it is taught by a graduate students and they are VERY tough when it comes to grading; out of 16 students in the class, 2-3 end up with an A.
-If you're pre-med and will be taking Chem 105a, MAKE SURE you go to SI (supplementary instruction) three times a week if you have to. Pre-med classes are intensive and very competitive (a lot of smart asian kids in the class), and only 10% of students usually get an A. SI sessions are taught by students who previously took the class and aced it and they'll make you understand the material more.
-For business school students: Good luck with the grading curve that Marshall has. You want an A in the class, do less partying and more studying, otherwise your GPA will be so low that you won't know what hit you.

that's all...don't stress...but give your best

Do most freshman take WRIT 140 their first semester?

And random question, If I want to minor in business, should I take the math placement test at orientation?

YES, but there are others who take it the second semester. If you feel overwhelmed, take WRIT 140 and GE cat. VI in the Spring
