Take a breath and relax, you've made it in to UNC!

Woo hoo!
I am like 90% sure I will be attending. :)
I'm just going to visit again in April (not for an Explore Carolina day though, I have lacrosse games on all of those days) just to make sure everything's good.

So far out of all my acceptances, I'm probably attending UNCH.

Congratulations to everyone who has been accepted!

Not completely sure if I'll be attending UNC or not. Besides UNC, I have to choose from Duke and Wake Forest.

Go Heels. :)

too bad texas lost today, or we might have had a nice Texas v. UNC match :/

Woot!!!!!!!!!!!!

Roger Dooley is a really cool guy! I just PMed him and he set up this subforum!

yay, a UNC 2011 forum! finally! I just visited today for explore carolina. I already knew that I was going to go, but I just decided to go. I'm so excited! Everyone there just really seemed like they loved it.

How dod you set up your email account for UNC?

fobby, you go to https://s4.its.unc.edu/SISMisc/pidwmp

look up your PID, then use it to set up your Onyen and password (http://onyen.unc.edu), which you then use to get into your email account.

hope that helps!

omgomgomgomgomg UNC 2011 <3

and i agree w/the texas comment...durant/wright matchup? that wouldve been THE game of the tourney. too bad.

thank you for the hint

yayyy UNC. no matter where i go, i will pull for the tar heels because all of the other schools i applied to aren't exactly known for sports, and definitely won't play them. did anyone else almost cry at the end of the georgetown game?

Definitely.

i am just wondering if UNC is for me....a little nervous of the 80+% instate students vs. me one of the outsiders. What do you all like about carolina? I need to hear more about the great things about Carolina!!!!! How do the instaters feel towards us? Do you all go home alot? Would love to hear your feelings as I try to make this decision.

I know this was already answered elsewhere... but, seriously. My brother's a junior at Carolina from in-state and is mainly friends with oosers. It seems like the only way it enters into your friendship when you first meet them. "Hey, where are you from?" "DC" "Ohhh, okay, a lot of my family lives in Alexandria." That kind of thing. And if you meet someone and where they're from is just one word, ie, Greensboro, then they're from in-state.

It doesn't seem like it's an insider vs outsider thing, but simply where you're from. I know myself and a lot of the people I know who are in-state who are going to Carolina do not plan to keep in good touch with their current high school friends, simply because I and the other people I know have always envisioned college as some place far away from every one you knew before.

I have known one girl out of like, thirty from my school to go to UNC, who comes home frequently, and every one thinks that's a little weird. Carolina has so much stuff to do during the weekend that no one wants to leave. That's when the fun kicks up! Where else are you looking?

is anyone thinking about doing the summer bridge program or have you heard anything about it?

hey--i'm going for sure now; can't beat that in-state tuition ;)

maybe if i'm lucky i'll see some of y'all in the fall!

I'm going for sure as well.

We should start a new thread for those of us who are going 100%.

we should start a thread for those of us going 95%+ lol
