UNC =First Choice

UNC is definitely my first choice and I will go there without hesitation...and seeing how everyone on this forum is absolutely dying to find out about their "status"...I was wondering how many people actually have UNC as their first choice (or one of their first choices).

And whether or not you guys will be absolutely devastated if you don't get in and if you don't...where is everyone going?

If I get deferred (PLEASE NO) or rejected...I'm going to end up going to Appalachian state (which I'm not so crazy about).

UNC is my #1 choice, always has since sophomore year. If I don't get in, I'll go to NC State.

I love UNC.

Are there other places I'd rather be?
Probably. But I know I would love going to UNC for four years. Plus, I know for a fact that my family will be able to afford UNC. It's a great school at a great price.

If I'm rejected from UNC and all my other schools (and money's no problem), I'm probably headed to Notre Dame. If money is a problem, probably NC State.

So I've been going to this site for a long time but I decided to sign up the night before we're all thinking UNC is going to tell us.

Anyways, it's been my first choice since I can remember. If i get rejected I'm headed to UVA or Wake Forest (hopefully at least. gotta get accepted somewhere first. :) )

It is definitely my first choice. If I don't get in, I will probably be going to either University of South Carolina or NC State. But, I definitely hope that I don't have to go to any other school than UNC. I can't wait until decisions come out!!!

^ hah I did that for a long time too...until I was like "hey..um maybe I should actually get an account now" =)

UNC is not my first choice, its not even my second
I hope to go to Duke or Gtown

i only really discovered UNC this past summer (I'm from MA), but i'm pretty sure it's my first choice. i haven't actually visited yet, but i will if i get in, and i'm sure i'll love it. the only problem is it's not my parents' first choice, so if i get in i'll have to do a lot of convincing...

me too! i'm from virginia so assuming i get into unc and uva it will be a battle with my parents to convince them unc is worth it...but hey, i have to get in first! good luck everybody :)

hannahs232. What a hard decision. If I was from VA and was accepted at UVA I would be there in a heart beat. What a great campus. Good luck in your decision. UNC is my first choice, if not I have NC State as a back up and will probably scramble to apply elsewhere. Good luck everyone. Try and sleep tonight.

hannahs--- i know exactly how you feel. I used to live in NC and then we moved up here and my parents got sucked into Wahoo-fever. Even if I get in to UNC, I've got to fight them on letting me go over UVA and W&M.

and snoz (assuming youre from NC?)--- I know how you feel, but a lot of people in VA feel that way about UNC. it's our version of UVA OOS.

UNC is definitely my first choice, even though money will probably be a problem. I've never visited, but everything I've ever read/heard/seen about it, i absolutely love.

Astranger: I also applied to Appalachian State, but I'm not so crazy about it anymore, either.

If I don't get in to UNC (knock on wood), I'll most likely go to FSU (if i get in there. I'm IS, but not sure I correctly answered the essay prompt).

Those are the only three colleges I applied to =/ I'm a little nervous, and thinking I might apply somewhere else just in case.

lkjadhfkajhdkf i just don't know! lol :]

Since the 8th grade!! I've wanted to go to UNC, I mean. I don't even know what my second choice would be.

hmm, good question! Well, let's see, my top 4 are Michigan, Notre Dame, UNC, and UVA, but in no particular order. I've already gotten into Michigan, which I absolutely love, but OOS tuition is outrageous. So it will probably come down to whichever one offers the best financial aid, or if something makes me lean toward a certain school. All of them are great institutions with awesome tradition, I'll be proud wherever I go.

Good luck to all, and remember, everything happens for a reason; if you don't get in, all you can do is accomplish something great at whatever school you DO attend, and make UNC wish they'd accepted you.

UVA is my first choice, UNC #2. Also waiting on Vandy, UGA is favorite of the schools i'm in now. Brother goes to UVA and I love it, loved Vandy on the visit, UGA looks awesome, and IF I get in UNC I will definitly visit.

....Kinda sucks hearing from schools in exact order of least favorite to favorite. I'm obviously excited when I get in places, but it's not the same knowing I have to wait until April for my #1 school.

For now I'll just hope I get in one

UNC is def my first choice, but I also got into the South Carolina Honors Program so I don’t think ill be too devastated. I’m OOS so I know my chances are slim from the start.

UNC is the only school I want to go to, I thought about only applying there but in the end I threw together apps for duke/state.

unc is and always has been my number 1

Haha I applied to UNC last minute just to throw another public school into the mix. I didn't actually expect to get in OOS. Duke had been my top choice since I was in middle school (shh don't tell!) but that had changed by senior year. I ended up getting waitlisted there and asked to be taken off since I knew I wouldn't end up there anyway.

In the end it came down to UNC, Vandy, and Davidson, all very different but great schools. Davidson was just too small for me, it was smaller than my high school and that was just strange to me. Vandy seemed a bit too "rich" and Greek for me, so UNC won out. It was a good decision. :)

UNC has been my first choice ever since I visited over the summer. I'm so excited that I got accepted, and I'll probably be heading there in the fall.
