Class of '14, '15, etc. Volunteering during the Summer??

<p>What kind of volunteering are you guys dong over the summer? I need ideas b/c as of now it looks like I'll be volunteering at a hospital all summer. It wouldn't be so bad except I have no interest in studying in the medical field so it seems kind of irrelevant. I want to major in architecture/engineering, I'm not sure which it is specifically, but that's a whole other issue.</p>

<p>Is it even important to have ec's that are relevant to what I want to study?</p>

<p>Not usually. Most people don’t know what they want to study. It’s not necessary that you have volunteering specifically, so I’m not sure why you’re limiting yourself to that unless your school requires it or something.
The important thing is to have dedication and consistency. </p>

<p>I’m volunteering at the library like I have for the past five years. Also at a local arboretum if they ever call me back.</p>
