CLASS of 2007! Were heading towards our hardest year!

Next year I'm taking AP US History. My school messed up my schedule this year, so next year I start taking 4 honors track courses instead of just 2 (My rank and GPA are screwed >>;; ) But we have a step program. I'll be taking honors Chemistry 1 next year, which is the first half of AP Chem. Then the course labeled AP Chem is the next year, which I'll be taking along with Honors Biology II (They don't offer AP)

We do a similar thing with Honors History. The step track we do is cool, because we aren't confined to the test the entire way through. Same with Chem. Plus, we can take it slower too. It isn't like that for English, Math, or Language though.

Taking like 5/6 darn APs and possibly a few college courses via EPGY/Community college. This sounds so fun already (that was sarcasm :)).

I'm currently a junior and am enrolled in 4 AP classes. My sophomore year was fairly simple, although I did write two term papers. As long as you manage your time properly and perhaps prepare a little during the summer (review the first few chapters of textbooks), you can get a head start. I'm sure you will do all do fine; one of the keys to success is to enjoy your work - if you do this, it won't be as stressful. Enjoy your junior year and make the most out of it.

I've heard the scary stories about junior year. ::shudders::

Everyone's making a huge deal about it at my school, especially if you're planning on applying to a good college. Next year for my APs, I'll be taking Calc AB, English Language, Spanish Language, Psych, Chem, and US. I'm really worried about it because I know I have to do well. My brother just got accepted to Duke, and my parents are constantly reminding me to "get on the ball." :(

SmartyPantz901: After some reflection during this past week of vacation, I don't think junior year has been "scary" as much as seniors have made it out to be. Sure, there are many term papers, projects, tests, quizzes, and reports to complete. Sure, there will be many nights when you have to study past midnight. If you enjoy school and academics, then junior year should be an enjoyable year.

Don't burden yourself with unnecessary APs; APs are meant to help you gain more knowledge in a subject you have interest and talent in - they weren't meant to be "tools" to "get into college." Unfortunatley, the majority of students are choosing the latter reason (according to many magazine and newspaper reports).

Former President Bill Clinton's mother once told him that it's best to consider problems like boxes; these boxes are meant to be open one at a time and then closed. Once you close one of the boxes, you don't open it again - you just move on to the next box. Ultimately, the moral of her story applies to your upcoming junior year: take junior year one day at a time, and don't reflect on successes/failures in your academic career, just keep moving forward.

Thank you so much for that comment. I've been saying the same over on the IB thread.

hey lets all ***** some more! cuz we're not as smart as the 06er's

Next year is gonna kill, but when the time comes, will it really be worth it? It seems everybody here assumes it will... just a thought on whether or not things work out in the way you really want it to be like.

ap ush at our school is supposed to hella hard; good luck to all. the roller coaster is going around the loop now.

Lol..I'll give a woot for 07 since my brothers in your class. I'm 05, but were all done with.. lol.

GOOD LUCK 07'ers!

THANK YOU TAMI>Ahem, no one gives a w00t about 06. :D

when you do something right... people won't notice at all... that's kind of like sarorah said...

i guess we're on the right track... and ahem... not glamour whores like 07...

LOL Sarorah. xD Whores? OmG.

I'm really worried about it but I like the IB programme. It is going to really hard I’m just worried about my math and French I know I can handle the others. I really hate the stress for example last Monday I thought Tuesday would be the end of the world school wise and now I look back and laugh, but that is what procrastination gets me. Anyway… yeah I’m scared but at the same I’m looking forward to it.

I have a 10-page research paper due tomorrow, and I'm not even in the IB yet. I need to get off CC.

edit: Wow, sorry to bring up an old thread...this is what sleep deprivation does to people. I totally didn't see the date. (Like, omgah!)

meh, it was 05s at our school taht were amazing... =/
something to live up to. btw, do most people find their ap ush the hardest history class in their school? it seems like wherever i looked, most places are this way.

apush def the hardest..i live in FL and we missed so many days around sept and august because of the hurricanes and now we are on the cold war and RUSHING to finish...blahh

I had a harder schedule this year in pre-IB than I will next year in "real" IB.

This year I had (only mentioning non-standard stuff)
AP Music Theory
AP World History
IB Math Methods year one (precalc)
IB Spanish III

That was pretty intense, but next year will be easier.

IB English HL
IB Music HL
IB History HL
IB Math Studies SL
IB Spanish IV SL
IB Physics SL

Should be easier over all...

But then again, I also do Marching Band, Fall Football, Soccer, Lacrosse, and Spring Football...

SATs... not worried about those. Got a 1330 as a freshman, and I'm going to a Princeton Review camp this summer to get beefed up for the new one.

Anyway, I'm not worried.

I'm taking three AP's next year, AP Art history, AP US History, Ap Cal Ab, and I honors class (english), and a total kickback class religion III lol,
