maddy good luck! That totally isn't fair, because that EA college is taking advantage of you as an international. And as for people sabotaging you, I really hope people don't. I applied to Princeton ED because I thought it was one of the few top schools that didn't have that that level of vicious competition. You deserve a shot at Princeton just as much as anyone else, and I hope you get it :)

thanks alot JTC007.....I am just a little bit burnt that a school can do such a thing.....I am getting really scared now.

i finally got the email saying my application is complete. =D now the wait :(

i'm guessing we'll have around 4000 applicants

I doubt it...more like 2500.

My interviewer finally called. ahhhh I'm scared!

you'll be fine, arwen !! good luck. i think most people's were very informal (including mine). there was really nothing to worry about at all :)

PS I REALLY WANT PRINCETON TO RELEASE THE ED STATISTICS!!!!

I hope the acceptance rate for ED is around 25 to 30%. Assuming P-ton accepts around 600 applicants again for early, this means a range of 2000 to 2400 applicants. However, it seems that this year, there will be more applicants. But I don't think it will reach over 3000 applicants. So 600/3000 is 20%, and I think that's the lowest it will go.

i'm scared about the possibility that they will test out next year's policy by admitting less people early though.

Yeah just because Yale's dropped doesn't necessarily mean everyone else's increased...I don't know why so many people are starting to worry.

Like foolonthehill161 said, if it does go up, I doubt it will go up to more than 3000.

3000 is still a lot!!

anyone know EXACTLY how many ED applicants there were last year? and how many accepted? (dunno if this was previously mentioned)

Does anyone know when they congregate together to make the decisions?

From the collegeboard website:

* Number of early decision applications received: 2,039
* Number admitted under early decision plan: 593
* Number enrolled under early decision plan: 586

harvard and stanford have around 4000 applicants in their early action schemes... thats quite a lot...

but then, people prefer EA because they are scared of ED!

not us, princetonians.
we say BRING IT ON BITTTCH

lol, as long as the profanity isn't specifically directed at anyone, i guess :)

It's not profane.
It passed the CC "STAR THE BAD WORD OUT" test.
The extra Ts make the word ambiguous.
What's a bitttch? That's not in the dictionary...

muahhaa... yet again, many of us are online.. how 'bout a virtual party?

lol everyone on this page is online except arwen

mm... does anyone know what is the process adopted by pton to let its applicants know the admission decisions? phew, that was a tough question to frame emails? only snail-mails? both?
