BingCold-- go ahead, I'll share after you do ( I'd hate to be the oly one sharing hahah, it would just look really dumb)

hi everybody!! im possibly gonna apply to u-penn ED. I'm a really godd student it's just that my SAT's suck ass. I hate tests.

^I agree... sats suck.. I'm actually retaking during may

me too, its my first time sighs why cant they just look at my grades and see that im a good student instead of a stressful test

i hate the sats!!

im getting my scores from round 2 on monday.

im pretty much terrified.

g'luck, tell us how you did when you find out ;)

we'll have to share results on monday. that's four of us getting the results

5 of us.. blah, me toooo, 2nd time around.. mhmm.. have you guys visited upenn.. how is it? I'm visiting in july..

i really want to visit campus, but it's kinda hard since i live in Puerto Rico

hopefully i'll be accepted in the LBW summer program at wharton. thats the only way i'm visiting

^
I've heard that that pogram is awesome. I'm gonna try and visit this summer during a family trip upto the states. If I visit its gonna be this summer, because like you I have a hard time finding a chance to visit since I live in Costa Rica.

My SAT's suck too, and I'm applying ED

You guys start earlier and earlier every year.

If there's one thing I've learned from all my friends' and my own experiences with applying to colleges, SATs aren't everything. Two kids in my class - one girl with a 2400 rejected from Yale, another kid with a 1980 into Yale. Just thought I'd save you all some excess worrying =]

i just breathed a sigh of relief upon reading about the people who applied to yale. im not applying there, but its good to know that some top schools dont weigh the sats as heavily as i'd thought when determining admission. if they did, i would basically not get into any of the colleges i wanted to go to =)

speaking of the sats, im sort of bitter that the ppl who took them in april have to wait a week longer for scores now. i dont know if thats a good or bad thing, after the mix-up with the october scores. i just really want to know how i did!!!

on a lighter note, i visited penn today and it was awesome!! the campus was beautiful and everyone seemed really laid back and friendly. i think i might want to apply ed to CAS now.

i'll probably think that until those sat scores come back ;)

ONE MORE WEEK!!! how can they do this?!?! i'm nervous enough as it is...

I go to a really competitive school where a lot of kids are amazing geniuses. A lot of people have near perfect scores and don't get into any Ivies while others with not so near perfect scores get into a handful. There's more to your application than just your SAT scores - as long as you're somewhere near a school's standard range, worry not. What you make of your essays, your recommendation - that's what's going to make or break your applications. That girl with the 2400, for example, had awesome recs and she's in the top 5 of my class - yet I read her essay and it wasn't too great. She didn't get into ANY Ivies. Me, for example, I had a 2200 which was lower than most of the kids who applied to Penn from my school. Almost 40 kids applied, and 4 got in. I was one of those 4 - why? Everyone said my essay kicked ass.

So, juniors. Stop sweating SATs so much and maybe start looking at essay questions - maybe pick up an old common app and start thinking of ideas. Good luck =]

Took the SATs in April first time. I will actually make myself prep for the June ones.

I have already posted my stats before. Some major changes but the crux of it remains the same.

I'm gonna bring back to life that stats thread for 2007, that way those who want can post their stats there.

bump..............
