Has anyone that applied Early Decision heard anything yet?

yeah, I was wondering the same thing too. I was told by the office since my address is overseas I'll be getting an email on the 15th.
now it's the 16th and I haven't got anything yet...

I just sent them an email, asking what happen, because I need to tell my counselor what to do with the rest of my RD apps. and she needs an answer before wednesday!
what sucks, this is my exam week, so the school days are all messed up!

I really hope they don't send it by mail to me (takes a week to get here), because I'm gonna be away, and won't be back until January

When the emails arrive, we'll see some happy postings here, I'm willing to bet. :)

If they don't respond via email on Monday, try calling the admissions office and asking what's up.

Since the 15th fell on a weekend this year, you might take pity on the admissions office and wait until Tuesday to call. There will probably be over 200 ED applications.

How long do you think a decision letter via snail mail will take to get to Louisiana?

USPS - First-Class Mail Rates says first class takes one to three days, so I'd guess three days from OR to LA.

I just got my decision today, and it is definitely good news! I'm so excited!

I got in as well... the letter and email I must say were pretty cool to boot

Definitely, the confetti and flash movie thing were awesome.

i'm in, yay yay :D

I got in as well :)
I'm at my friend's house, so I haven't saw the mail, but my parents said the confetti was cool.

Just watched the flash movie. Loved it, I'm so excited!

My son and one of my students are also new Reedies tonight. :)Congratulations to everyone!

Congrats to all accepted! What's this about confetti? Do they fill their envelopes with confetti? That's amazing!

Could any of you guys please post your stats? I'm applying RD, and it's always nice (or not) to know how comparable people did. Again, congratulations! There are many, many times when I wish I were applying ED to Reed, so I'd never be tempted by another school ever again.

Good Job, and I would also love to see some stats if it would be possible.

The envelopes were in fact filled with confetti, which was a really fun surprise.

I go to an inner-city public high school with IB to keep the school from being shut down forever, but I love it to death, and I am also an IB Diploma Candidate. I visited Reed twice, and did an interview on the most recent visit, which I think went really well.

Is this what you mean by stats?

Adaman, My son's stats:
740 CR, 710 m, 680 w; 770 math IIC, 750 Literature
3.8 (or so) unweighted GPA, 4.12 weighted
His school doesn't officially rank, but probably in the top 10%
11 AP/Honors courses (most rigorous at his high school), 4 years math, science, social studies, 3 years Latin, 2 summers of ancient Greek at CTY, has continued to study Greek on his own since then
Very strong recommendations from his teachers(they gave him a copy); both mentioned how his questions kept them on their toes and made them think
Strong essays (main one about his thoughts while treking in the mountains, really passionate "Why Reed" essay)
EC's: founded a rock band that plays paying gigs locally, lots of theater (tech side, not acting), avid reader (sent a lengthy list of books he's read independently in last six months)
He did interview and visit twice. Reed was the only school for him after the first visit.

My student who was admitted had very similar stats.

Good luck!

My daughter is also a Reedie!
The confetti was a typical Reed touch I thought-- things like that are why it was my D's#1 school. WOOHOO!

From what I understand, Reed College is primarily concerned with a good match from their end of the admission process-- I hope that Reed wants students who understand what it is about Reed that makes it special!

As far as stats go:
My D also visited Reed twice-- and they had her at "hello."
SAT: CR 760 M 720 WR 790
GPA: 3.95 (school does not weight)
Essays were very well written (genuine-- showed intellect, interests and writing ability)

I am so EXCITED that my daughter is going to reed-- I have no doubt that she will thrive there!

Remember, now that you've gotten in, set aside stats, because talking about them is very un-Reed-like. :-)

It's hard, being trained to do it for so long.... and it doesn't even show anything about you! Hah.
