Class of 2012: Junior Year Schedules!!!!

When history’s involved, it’s always iffy. But if you work hard enough and allot time to review for each of them, at least you’ll do okay on the exam. Your grade in AP classes really depends on what your teacher makes you do. My APEH/APUSH teacher grades like the lawyer / college professor he used to be, so his class is ridiculously hard.

Well it depends on what teacher I get. Like for this year, I managed to get the one AP World teacher who doesn’t literally tell his students the answers to his tests. -.- I feel like I’m capable of 4 AP’s but my parents are against it. I just want to go to a good college and prove my first 2 years of High School were flukes.

IB Spanish 6 HL
IB English HL
IB Euro HL
AP Calc BC
IB Chemistry
Honors French 4
IB TOK

I’m doing the IB Diploma (obviously lol), and for those who aren’t familiar, TOK is a required philosophy class.

Any other IB-ers?!

If I was doing my first plan

IB Math HL 1
IB English HL 1
IB History HL 1
IB Chemistry HL 1
AP Stat
Physics SOL(Probably IB Physics SL because of AP Physics B)
IB Computer Science SL

and Online
AP Calc AB
AP Physics B
And the AP Lang and Comp

My proposed Early graduate schedule

IB Math HL 2
AP English Lang and Comp
AP WOrld Hist
AP US Hist
AP Euro Hist
AP Calc BC
AP Chem
IB Physics SL
IB history HL

(Most are online now)

Just wondering, why do people do IB AND AP? Are there classes not offered in one program, do you just want more credit/placement, appreciate a challenge, or what? I wouldn’t know, since my fail of a school doesn’t offer IB at all.

@MattNC-

No. APUSH is mangeable. (Well, for me at least. History seems to be one of my strong points I guess… We had a quiz today in AP Euro. I got a 19/20 without reading the chapter. The closest person to me got a 15/20. Average score was 13.)

Well, my school offers 3 AP classes. 1 every sophomore takes(Comparative Politics), 2 are optional.(Stat and USH). However, in my state we have a free online High school where we can take AP courses.

All but one of my classes are set.

AP Calculus AB/BC
AP US History
English 3 Honors
Physics Honors
Marketing 3 Honors (Must take to be in DECA and I’m the treasurer)

And here is what I’m debating:
Originally I put down AP Human Geography, a relatively easy AP in my school. Then, halfway through Honors Chemistry, I realized I liked Chemistry a lot, and I was pretty good at it. Then the thought came into my mind about taking AP Chemistry next year and leaving AP Human Geography for senior year, since it’s the easier AP. I’m just not sure if I should take AP Chemistry.

*, I’m so torn, I don’t know whether to take 3 or 4 AP’s… xD. This is not a typical dilemma, but *…

AP U.S. History
AP American Literature
French III (No honors option)
Chemistry (For juniors, it’s either regular or AP, since only 2 years of science are required to graduate, and since I’m not interested in science, I don’t want to take AP)
Journalistic writing (It’s working on the school newspaper)
Pre-Calculus

I know it’s not the greatest schedule out there, but if I get good marks and everything, will colleges see it as a turn off, or will they “like me”? I’m thinking about majoring in Communications (To be a journalist)

AP French
AP Psych
AP Lang
APUSH
AP Environmental
Math III/IV (messed up my schedule in freshman year, and I was stuck in regular ever since. I’m doing the accelerated version so I can take AP Statz senior year).

F*** the 25 AP’s at my school. ■■■

@jramirez

Take AP Chem! You’re gonna forget everything by the time you’re a senior

AP Calculus AB
AP Physics C: Mechanics
AP English Literature
AP Psychology
AP Biology
Accounting 1 & 2
Drawing 1
Financial Literacy

That’s what i signed up for. Who knows what they will teach.

AP Biology
AP Art History
AP Environmental Science
AP Language and Composition
AP US History
AP MacroEconomics
AP MicroEconomics
Honors Pre-Calculus

Should I add AP Psychology?

^ Take it. It’s one the classes I most wish my school offered.

AP Calculus AB and BC, first semester and second semester (my school is stupid and does the scheduling this way even though it makes no sense whatsoever; we’re supposed to only end up taking the BC exam at the end of the year)
AP Lang
AP Chemistry
AP USH/Gov (also because my school is stupid, these two classes switch off every day)

I go to a school with a block schedule so those are all the classes I’m allowed to take. They’re all year long.
I’m going to be self studying everything I can because my school doesn’t offer any other APs than the ones I listed due to lack of interest.
Being from southern New Mexico sucks.

IB Engilsh A1 HL
IB 2nd Language B HL
IB History HL
IB Econ HL
IB Math SL
IB Physics SL

:| Still iffy on whether to do physics or not.

Ravenclaw -

the way the IB program is structured, you take 2 kinds of classes - Higher Level (HL) and Standard Level (SL). Compared to APs, HLs are generally slightly harder and SLs are slightly easier. HLs are also 2 year classes (with the exam in senior year) and SLs are 1 year. Colleges know this and give AP-equivalent credit only to HL classes if you receive above a certain score. (IB exams are graded out of 7 points, so the general equivalent of a 4-5 on an AP is a 5-7.) The problem is that the IB Organization allows you to take 4 HL classes max. So if you want credit for other classes, or for your SLs, you have to take the corresponding AP exam. At my school, which offers both, most classes are mixed IB/AP (as in IB kids and AP kids literally sit next to each other in the same class, but it appears as IB on the IB kid’s transcript and AP on the AP kid’s transcript). There’s also some overlap - for example, the first year of IB Math HL at my school is AP Calc BC. It just appears as IB Math HL 1 on my transcript, but I take the AP exam and everything. I’m taking the equivalent AP exams for all the IB classes I take, in case there are problems transferring my IB credits.

I just registered for my classes today. I think I died a bit inside.

AP English Language
AP Chemistry (I’m in honors this year and at my school, honors is the first half of AP so I figured why not?)
AP Human Geography
Pre-Calculus Honors
Psychology I and II Honors
Spanish IV Honors
Photo II CP
Sociology CP (only level offered :/)

do you guys think this is good?

AP Biology
AP US History
Honors French III
Honors English III
Honors Pre-Calc
Honors Anatomy and Physiology
(plus religion for the whole year)

At my school you are only allowed to take AP’s starting junior year, and can only take up to 3… however, no one is even attempting that.
