Does anyone think I should change my schedule or make it harder? If so, how? I suck at math so that’s not a possibility, and I can’t take AP Lit til 12th grade.

I feel like I’m getting a first look at my “competition.” I’m resisting the overwhelming urge to analyze compulsively. Oh, College Confidential, save me from my unforgivably anal retentive nature!

Anyway, schedule:

IB English HL
IB History HL
IB Spanish HL
IB Physics SL/HL (we select the level at the end of our junior year, so I’ll base my decision off of Year 1’s difficulty, haha)
IB Math SL
IB Environmental Systems SL
Independent Study (with teacher mentor - focus in poetry)

I’ll hopefully be taking the corresponding AP exams, as well.

AP Composition/Language

English 11 advanced
and some other stuff lol

To Matt:
Your schedule seems pretty competitive as it is. Keep in mind that these are AP’s, just one more could add up from 30 min - 1.5 hours of daily study time. You’re taking three AP’s and a bunch of honors classes, I think you’re fine. The way I see it, if you take an AP it’s because you find the subject fascinating and will enjoy the extra work. I know many people that are miserable and regret taking certain AP’s, even if they’re doing well, just because it looks good in their transcript. I chose my AP’s cause I’m genuinely interested in the subjects (I even turned down AP Physics). If you take another AP, then it should be in a class that interests you A LOT and you can see yourself enjoying those extra hours of work.

My current junior class schedule looks like this:

AP Statistics
AP US History
AP Chem
Theater Arts

I want to major in IR or PR, so would it be pointless to take so many advanced math/science classes? I definitely want to pursue the humanities so would it be worth it to take those classes if I get a mediocre grade and it brings down my GPA? I wish I have other AP classes as options, but those are the only ones available to me at my school
Also, should I take Spanish 4 in lieu of Theater Arts? Even though I hate Spanish and I get terrible grades?

cool haha!
