Class of 2012, TOP school & academic profile?

lol.

I want to be a researcher in computer science/ mathematics / computer engineering/systems engineering.

Programming is one of my few loves in the world.

I’m taking it for free in March.

But thank you.

MIThopeful16-- ARE WE TWINS!?

^^^ I’ve tried my hand at programming and stuff. I hated it becuase i could not remember any of the codes and stuff. =/
I had to take a 2 year class on it. The only reason I passed was because the teacher was the advisor of our school paper and I was in charge of making it each month. lolz

^^Oh okay that’s good then.

^^ LOL i have no sure.

Parents said I’ve been messing with computers for a while.

I like merging mathematics and computer science.

i used to want to be in the CIA, a firefighter, a neurosurgeon, and a lawyer. but i realized i love math, and i love computers, so why the heck not do BOTH!? epiphany at it’s best.

Parents say I had an “aptitude” for math at a young age.

Obviously I didn’t use it well, since I didn’t find out about the AMC until last year.

Switched from wanting to be a doctor, to a lawyer(Parents say I could still be a good lawyer, bleh)

I wanted to be a doctor, then a chemical engineer, then a teacher, then a cheerleader, writer, a pro-swimmer then a journalist.
The first 6 all happened while in elementary school lolz. But every so often I still think about becoming a swimmer. lolz. crazy ideas.

MIT- what’s AMC?

Blackrose- never let go of your dreams lol.

I used to SUCK at math. Then I got to HS sophomore year and we did pre Calc. That’s when I fell in love & changed my career plan lol. I like calculus. Well, I LOVE calculus. I hate all other types of math.

Ha… my aunt’s a chemical engineer…
rich one too.

AMC = American Mathematics Competition.

I had to take an online class for Calc and skip Pre-Calc.

Calc is easy.

I wanted to own a playboy mansion (at the time, I thought “really big, humongous mansions” were called “playboy mansions”)/ become a marine biologist or a pro musician.
That’s about it haha.

Now I’m interested in neuroscience :)

^^^
I like geo and Calc as well. All other forms of math make me cry.

^ Wait, MarinebioSax, are you a guy?

Well…

There is a lot of Math.

Like Algebra 1(NO, not the HS algebra 1, the college algebra 1 that they give graduates and doctoral students).

I hate algebra. I was sooo afraid that I would have to take Algebra II this year. But thank heavens I got into I.B. now i’ll never have to take it again.

lol… Not the Algebra I was thinking… since that’s the easiest stuff ever.

Btw… IB makes you go back to it.

Algebraic methods are used a lot.

Not a lot though. I can handle tiny bits of it at any given time. But the idea of a class called Algebra makes me shudder.
I’m okay with understanding it. But I just dislike it. I wish I.B. math had more geo.

I crowned myself the Derivative Queen.

IB Math HL has a lot of graph analysis. Geometry is nothing but the visual and spatial relationships of systems and structures, that can be communicated using algebraic language.

Algebra 1 = Abstract Algebra.

Integral king!

And to add onto BlackRose101’s question- what’s everybody’s gender? I’m confused lol. And a female.

I’m a (straight) female. Lol.
