Class of 2012 USC hopefuls ..

I don't want to be interviewed. I'm very much...against interviews. =/ I get so nervous talking to people I know, I'd be so bad meeting a stranger. Oh, no, USC is my fourth choice. xD But I would still really like to go, especially since my first three choices are high reaches.

It seems like you're applying to a couple of the same schools as me though aquamarinee, haha.

I'm hesitant to say that USC is my first choice. I don't see many other colleges that seem to be as good a fit, but if I got into some of my uber reach schools I'd have to think about it for a while.

Yeah I'm getting nervous about my interview...hm I'm usually pretty ok with complete strangers but we'll see. A lot depends on my interviewer I guess.

If I got into Stanford, I'd deny everything else and cry out of happiness.

If I get into Northwestern ED, I'll cry from happiness. I don't really want to go anywhere else other than NU. I do like MIT, CMU, JHU, and Cornell though.

Yeah, there are lots of schools you like, but it's not the same as going to your first choice.

Yeah, it's not really the same. I wouldn't really mind going to the other ones though. I'd actually be really happy if I got into ANY of those I listed.

Me too. I'd especially like to go to USC if I don't get into Stanford or Columbia. Stanford's a really high reach for me, especially when the other people from my school applying have such amazing stats. I can't compete. ^_^'' It's a far off dream.

Yeah I'm applying to a lot of the same reach schools as you guys it seems. Stanford, Columbia, Northwestern, Cornell, just some of the other insane reaches I'm applying to.

I guess at this point we should just worry about getting in.

If I don't get into USC, I'd be crushed, though. Because then I'm really excited about that school and not as much for some of the other schools I'm applying to.

Yeah, the appeal of the school and the Trojan family is undeniable. :[ I'm psyched and incredibly nervous at the same time for my interview. Ughh guess I can ponder potential questions and responses over break.

I had an interview and they asked me some CRAZY questions that just made me freak out and not know what to say. Such as, "if you could go back four years and give yourself advice, what would you say?" It was insane! Good luck though haha!

Wow, seriously? Tell me more! Lol now I'm even more worried.

I haven't signed up for an interview. I'm hoping to avoid those, but I think I need to get one for Columbia and Yale.

I applied ED to Northwestern, so hopefully I can get in and not have to apply anywhere else, although I have to send in my UC and USC stuff before I get my decision. Argh...

Im in the same situation aquamarinee, but I'm EDing to Cornell. It's some sort of conspiracy to get all the application fee money from all ED/ EA applicants...hahha

i just started USC app... as i only just decided to apply

forgottenhawk - don't be nervous! The girl who interviewed me was super nice and friendly - they're probably all like that. Just be prepared to answer "wild card" questions by knowing your favorite book, a global issue, etc. Who knows if they always ask the same questions, so just be ready for anything. haha.

I applied last year under RHP and got in, but didn't/couldn't go. Hopefully I'll get in this year and they'll give me a better financial aid package. =]

If you are a presidential/trustee scholarship CANDIDATE, you have to go to USC for an interview later on after you are notified. If you are a dean's scholarship "winner" then you just get notified later on (March-ish). Presidential/trustee scholarship candidates get notified late January/early Frebruary.

Also, not all candidates get the scholarship. But some presidential scholarship candidates get bumped up to a trustee scholarship if their interview is excellent.

I just came back from visiting and USC got a huge bump from #3 on my list to #1. The campus is just so beautiful and I love the vibe of the school so much. I'm still applying to Stanford and Northwestern (which seems to make me part of the majority in this thread) but 'SC has my heart :D

I like how there's a Panda Express, like...right there. I need my Chinese food darn it.
