*Class of 2013* College list?

What colleges are on your list at the moment?

Being freshman-->sophomore, our lists are obviously subject to great change, but I've been researching colleges this summer, and I don't think mine is going to change radically. You never know, of course. =) Even our safeties may not be safeties come senior year, heh, but I've based this on having a 3.9 GPA, 2200+ SAT's, strong EC's, etc, all of which should be within my reach.

Here's my college list, ranked in preferred order:

Stanford (dream school)
Columbia
Princeton (legacy)
Rice
USC
GWU
Occidental
Rhodes (safety?)
Fordham (safety)
American (safety)
Truman State U (in state safety)
Mizzou (in state safety)

The only college I’ve even looked at seriously is Furman University.

If you really want to check out the good, bad and ugly of all these schools you should go on student review.com
I wish they had a forum for boarding schools on that site.

Harvard, Stanford, MIT, Caltech, NYU… just to name a few.

Gah. I have such low hopes compared to you guys xD

Awesome thread!! I think it’s a great idea to start thinking about college early. Unfortunately, I haven’t compiled a list yet ):

I’m class of 2013… wait… Wow, I feel old now.

This is scary. Guys, go read some obscure philosophy. Get blazed. Wasted. Go to a park. But get off CC, for chrissake.

Alright, have a few changes to mine…

Pomona College (top choice)
Furman
Bates
Amherst

These are aall pretty much reaches right now, though. :/

@Ksarmand- Is it really too early for us to be thinking about college?

^Haha, no. But the summer after freshman year, I was not posting lists of “match” and “reach” schools. You have a little more time for that sort of stuff.

^ Not much else to do when you don’t have a car and you live in the middle of nowhere xD

lol @ Qwerty.

^^I don’t have a car. I don’t live in a particularly poppin’ area. However, I still found other ways to occupy my time. I suggest you do the same.

Carnegie Melon University. BTW you’ll have a harder time getting into Stanford than any other school.

^^ Like, talking walks? Reading? Building junk? Music practice? Sitting out the pool? I already do all that, and still have too much free time xD

Oh aha, I don’t even know where I wanna go yet. But I’m going to make the most of my summer. I saw the new TOY STORY TODAY…IT WAS AMAZING!!

^^If you have too much free time, you have not yet discovered the wonders of StumbleUpon. And if that isn’t time-consuming enough, try volunteering. Start a garden. Work out. Do some self-improvement projects.

There’s tons of stuff you can do.

When I was a freshman, I was obsessed with Marquette in Wisconsin (totally random–I honestly have no idea what set that off, but I was really into it for some reason), then it was NYU, and finally junior year, when I had my SAT scores in hand and could actually gauge where I could go, I did a real college search including finances, future opportunities, and things beyond “this place looks like fun”. Sorry for hijacking your thread, but just wanted to point out how much everything is going to change for you guys priorities wise, although you’re already rocking CC, so maybe you’ve already started that “real” search in which case…WHY???

WHAT’S WITH AMHERST ON THIS BOARD!!!?!?!? >[ everything is amherst. why choose #2 with annoying location over #1 with nicer people in town? seriously dudes.

do you guys even know how to pronounce it right? B/c if you don’t that’s just failure.
