Class of 2014 From Nepal

Adsl ‘murdabad’ from my side too.

Nah I really don’t think there are that many +2 students here right now.

My ADSL account expires tonight! :frowning:
And I don’t feel like recharging it for at least a week.(Isolation from the world sometimes helps you find the “pleasure” ingrained within you! :p)

Don’t you guys occasionally feel an urge to “take a break” from everything around you(including family, friends, society, technology etc etc) and get lost within yourself!

Is it weird that I need it quiet often? (Ki ma Pagal bhayen!)

The main problem is that a lot of +2 students are unaware of this site. Majority of them go to “so called consultancies”… poor innocent ppl! k garnu desh ko chala nai yesto cha!

I have that urge everyday. So, what I do is whenever there is like 2 hrs. loadshedding in the evening or night, I pick up my ipod and go to the roof, where it is absolutely silent. This method is really very effective.

You know what. I was so surprised to read this site’s address on NIST’s annual magazine.

“Don’t you guys occasionally feel an urge to “take a break” from everything around you(including family, friends, society, technology etc etc) and get lost within yourself!”

It’s exactly true for me too, so i’m not the only weirdo here, haha

@Gurung, i’m sort of an artist you know, thanks a lot. I’m taking a 9 month art class in a college of fine Arts. so i might go and talk to them at Spiny Babbler but i’m not prepared in case it’s going to be too demanding in terms of time…

well, keep posting guys and gals…it’s really helpful to everyone.

man i am doing internship with Today’s Youth Asia and newsfront weekly. And it has enticed a beast out of me. I want to meditate in Himalayas for a week.

^ haha. BTW how do you think the adcoms will view an applicant with a job?

view an applicant with a job? its a great way to kill time and improve your ECA stats…In the past I have written for not so well-know publications and organisations- Nepalese Children Education Fund, Spotlight etc… as well but its really fruitful.
As far as adcoms are concerned there is a high chance that they may get impressed by what I did. but longevity and passion for work is what actually counts.

hey while you two ccprofile and Gurung are online, let me ask you whether you’ve gone any further with the commonapp>i don’t know what to do.

But the thing is that the work is not related to the intended major and yet i’ve been doing it for quite some time.

hey, have any of you given the subject tests?

No, but going to.

wanted to know abt the experiences>

which ones are you going to give?

i’m giving physics, maths2C and biology

I’m going for Physics, Math IIC and Chemistry.
I was a bit unsure of which to choose between Chemistry and Math I but decided to take Chem. in the end.
And BTW which bio? Bio e or Bio m?

Take Bio M. Its really easy. I barely even studied for it and got a 780.

@ccprofile: if you’re going to a liberal arts college, it doesn’t matter if your work experience is not related to your intended major. the people in college want you to experiment and try new things. the only requirement is that you work hard and apply yourself. if they see evidence of that, then they’ll look on you favorably.

I am in a great quandary between choosing Math II and Biology… Would abandoning Math, put me at a disadvantage?

yeah i think i should take bio m. i got a 600 the first time, haha

it’s been a long time that i haven’t studied these subjects. i gave final exams in may 08 i think. so i need to revise them all. was not intending to go abroad but then my mind changed after giving MOE-mbbs entrance exams.

@gurung, i think you should take mathII instead of biology. mathII is recommended by many colleges, so if you really have to choose between them and not give both, it would be better to give MAthII.
