<p>When I went there this time there were only 6 of us and we had a separator and there was a backup generator as well.I guess they must have installed all of that recently but I agree about the cyber-cafe type sitting.</p>
<p>^I guess they had the separator in few rooms ( prolly in most rooms)back then too. But I was in one of those tiny rooms on the upper floor of the building. I dont know if the number that day was unusual but it was looking pretty disorganized. there werent even ample chairs in the room I was assigned.</p>

<p>barron, kaplan, princeton review are okay for initial start. but they do not reflect the actual test. i strongly suggest you all to use collegeboard. i know the book is quite expensive. but try to take as many tests as you can from that book. try taking one or two tests from that book. you will realize what i mean. there is one more book. 10 real SATs from collegeboard. i think these books are in USEF as well.</p>
<p>yeah sure. you can apply for EA after applying ED. i didn’t do it, but i know many people who did that. you do not have binding agreement in EA. </p>
<p>i would suggest you all to apply one or two safeties at that point. safeties usually have rolling admissions and its better to apply as early as you can. some colleges and universities have deadlines for their highest scholarships around that time. if you get admission then. you feel a lot more relaxed as well.</p>

<p>I guess many have this misconception here that if you do ED you are not allowed to apply to other colleges. Thats utterly wrong. ED is a binding agreement that compells you to enroll into a particular institution after getting accepted. It is non-binding while applying. So, EA can be done simultaneously with ED.
However, some universitites have offer another admission plan called Restrictive Early Action where you are restricted to apply to other colleges under any early program.</p>
<p>Actually I know that you’re allowed to apply to other colleges and also know that you cannot ED or SCEA other colleges if you’ve already EDed somewhere already. I just wasn’t completely sure about EA.</p>

<p>Unless you’re applying for FA to a common app school and the FA offer is insufficient. In this case you can say thanks but no thanks to the ED acceptance and apply RD to other schools.</p>

<p>yes, i have seen that there are many safeties that start their admission in december. as for safeties, if you find a decent univ. with a good program that you might be interested in, it can be a good choice. plus, it should give scholarships for international students. usually, their prestigious scholarships like the presidential and stuff usually have deadline at around 1st of decembe. one more thing, in state universities if the department that you are interested in is good, they have special departmental scholarships as well. try to hunt for that also. contact the department itself. i never knew that… and when i came here, i found that i was eligible for a huge amt of money equivalent ot full ride.</p>
<p>i have found that applying to a good school is well known but its not the same situation while applying to a good safety.</p>

<p>@everyone: Folks, just like KRB told don’t wait until last moment when you get rejected by all the colleges in your list. Apply for safety as soon as possible, at least that’s the lesson we did learn through our application process.</p>

You might wanna join soon cause they need you to work about 6 months before they write you a letter of recommendation. There isn’t any kind of selection process so all you need to do is ask. You don’t need to research much. Just go check out the place on a fine Saturday morning and decide if you wanna volunteer. It was also great that I met a lot of other students applying to colleges in the US so we could discuss everything once a week (not that the administration was very happy about it…). Go visit it. A little further up from IOE and you’ll see the sign board that’ll direct you to the place. Here’s the site for the Arts Club
