Syracuse does give out aid. It has good merit scholarships for academically high-achieving students.

It does but still for an international looking for considerable(considerable as in almost full) aid Syracuse isn’t really a good choice.

True. But the most irritating part is that at the moment many universities have still not updated their sites with up-to-date figures on tuition costs and fin. aid.

I’m actually looking at Syracuse, (international student, full-ride-needing). I have family who went there with significant aid. So I guess one should apply, but not really COUNT on getting a good scholarship amount.

@ gurung.

You’re so right.
But i really find going through a college’s website difficult. So i resort to CB

Removing Purdue form my list thanks @Gurung

Having discussion on College websites.
Ya, though the best way is their website some colleges doesn’t have updated site and some sites doesn’t work like Carnegie Mellon University…
So as Duke99 said CB is safe and easy for searching making and breaking the college list…

Guys and could you please suggest some ways to get me start working on admission essay and common app application process…

I mean the first time I looked in these big Universities like Purdue (it has its own boeing!!!), Syracuse(their orange theme), V tech(lovely buildings)… made me wonder… like there are bigger and more beautiful schools in US than HYPS.

But later realising that they don’t provide aid atleast for our level was hard to digest.

HYPS???Harvard-Yale-Princeton???

guys what about Rose Hulman Institute of Technology, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Rochester Institute of Technology???

do they provide enough fin aid to international students???

[Rochester Institute of Technology - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia](<a href=“Rochester Institute of Technology - Wikipedia”>Rochester Institute of Technology - Wikipedia)

More than 350 students from Asia are currently studying at RIT from: Armenia, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Burma, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Macau, Malaysia, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam

Hi,

Polytechnic institutions usually take limited internationals. Even if they do, they provide insufficient aid atleast at our level in general (I mean there are some exceptions but then again they are students who have filed patents and pblished their own research papers.)

The next time you see a word ‘Nepali’ you need to carefully comprehend whether that means he/she is a us-citizen or a Nepali with a foreign co-signer … bla bla.

I have seen many students from Nepal apply to RPI, WPI and others but have not come across a single accepted person.

Actually, you need to research more to learn more rather than merely falling for my suggestions.

International students eligible for non-need-based aid

Number of enrolled international undergraduates received aid: 58

Total amount awarded : $1,535,894

The above is what collegeboard website says…From this how can we know whether they provide sufficient aid or not…

And I have these Polytechnic institutes in my list
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
Polytechnic Institute of NYU
Rochester Institute of Technology

@linux

take average. it’ll give u a better idea.
like 1535894/58 gives around 26.5 k

Thanks Duke99…
