Class of 2014 From Nepal

^But it might be a bit to late to register by the time he receives his SAT score.

BTW @stag: What did the test feel like?

^ i agree with cc.
it depends on how much time you have till the application process.

just wanted to give a hi to everyone out there from nepal… By the way i’m new to this forum.

TOEFL was a bit like doing an everyday thing…didn’t feel at all like a test. I always spend more than 6 hours a day on my computer, and after that being on the computer answering questions seems mundane… But i really have to see the results before i decide what i did that day,so i have no idea how it’s going to turn out.

Highly-ambitious: good luck. Having a high ambition is definitely going to move you forward if you’re willing to work for it.

thnx bro. i think da same with a passion to know all abt the admission procedures and standarized testing!!! Afterall i’m doing my alevels’10.

i have registered my SATs for november…and ive not yet given much time on my preperation…due to loads of school works!!!i registered it for november because i though i can give sats atleast utpo 2-3 times!!!but i heard that giving SATs more than once is dangerous if one is thinking to apply for some really good shot Colleges or ivies!!!in GRE they take the average of all the exams…does SAT does that!!!confused!!!can anyone please elaborate on this!!!

It’s always best to do well in the first shot itself, so prepare yourself well for the first try.

I have never heard of any place taking the averages of all the attempts. From this year onward you’ll have a score choice available. The score choice will allow you to send only those scores that you want the universities to see. But do keep in mind that some universities are refusing to accept score choice and want all of the scores to be available to them.I think i read Stanford as one of those places but I’m not sure as I won’t be applying there,so could anyone else confirm this.

Up till last year there were places that superscored i.e. take the highest marks of each individual sections from different testing. Don’t know if score choice has affected this policy or not.

ive only three months…i need to do best on my SATs…i cant let ivies off of my hands…not at any cost!!!can i postpone my SAts???i know i cant get >2200 within 3 months!!!and scoring such ivy scores within 1st attempt is really hard!!!guys suggestions please!!!

p.s: Im not class of 2014…instead im class of 2015…ive enough time to reach my desired score…but since ive already registered theres a problem!!!

Don’t go into the test thinking that you’ll have another chance at the SAT!!

I am really finding it difficult solving Chemistry problems without calculator… IT s just that the process is right and the calculations are not.

How can they even think of such a policy. Do they expect us to do sums of astronomical figures all in our head once we reach our colleges?

I was wondering how would the proctors know which test we are sitting for in the test center when different student would be siting for a diff test. Ad in this case WHETHER we are using calculator for MATH II or Chem or Phy?

Dont look into these colleges:

Purdue
Virginia Tech
Northen Kentucky
Syracuse
Uni of North Carolina

they dont give out aid to iternationals atleast at our level. Does anyone know anything about Northwestern and Northeastern Uni?

Syracuse University:

Living on-campus Living at home Commuting, not living at home
In-state tuition and fees: $34,926 $34,926 $34,926
Out-of-state tuition and fees: $34,926 $34,926 $34,926

Number who were judged to have need: 1,862
Number who had full need met: 1,210
Average financial aid package: $26,110

i think paying 8k annually is not bad!!!

i heard that even if u get fin aid…uve to pay around 10k at Northwestern!!!

pushpa…8k is tution…+ around 8k for room and board.
add up and it makes 16k
which is a lot.

@pushpa
syracuse living at campus-12,374 dollars
commuting-6,560 dollars.

just looked it up in CB

For info about Syracuse aid to internationals = 0 [SU- International Students](http://financialaid.syr.edu/International.htm)

The only reason why I dont trust Collegeboard and other review sites blindly is because they don’t speak much abt aid for internationals, even if they do sometimes they our either outdated or flawed.

So, looking at a college’s website is the most secure way to probe into fin aid figures.

By the way, I have heard of students getting into Northwestern with good aid but the only thing that is bugging me is their compulsary application fee to international students.
