I sure will. By the way I came to know about the college you are in…

Then you probably also know who I am since I’m the only Nepali there.

Shortcut Points

1)The most determining three factors are your college GPA,your SAT composite score and your personal essay.toil whole day and night for SAT .
2)That you should not do-apply only to big and elite schools- SO,apply to some safeties too
3)don’t take SAT II unless you are preparing for ivy or very high level college
4)For most of the safety colleges,deadline for scholarship to international students is around Dec 01.So, search those colleges soon-usnews.com tier 1,2, and tier 3 colleges
5)Essay-select an unique topic-"use supplement essay question of some of the universities for your essay topic or theme-that wud give you an entirely different concept-write short essay.

I would like to repeat this question series again for the seniors (accepted/enrolled students). Which college do you think would you discourage you juniors from applying to and some good reasons for it?

And then after a few replies we can move on with quite the opposite question. thanks.

^kalamazoo, university of richmond, rhodes, villanova - cause they say they give full aid but don’t.

@everyone
focusing on the points that i will be in Ib just made, I wanna repeat…
DON’T TAKE SATII UNLESS YOU ARE TRYING FOR IVIES OR STH. BIG LAC. instead use the test to take another SAT-I . I am sure you will improve your score if you take SAT-I 2 times.

And donot try for ivies unless you are super talented… I repeat super talented with super duper essays…

Best of luck to all Juniors. May God bless u all.

@everyone
I completely agree with ‘I will be in IB’. Dont spend time and labour on SAT II unless u r aiming the Ivies. Instead give SAT I twice or even thrice.
N always keep some safeties. Although u might be talented and hav high chance of acceptance, no one knows what will happen in future. So be on the safe side. Tek calculated risks but dont gamble
N a final note: Essays matter much more that we all think. So dont write it in the eleventh hour.

Hey guys, Northern Kentucky University is a good safety for talented students who want to major in Business. It gives full ride to the person getting over 1320 or 1350 in composite. [Northern Kentucky University Home Page](http://www.nku.edu)

The 100th post. Cheers!!!

Cool guys, appreciate all your responses.

i’m having a lot of trouble making the college list short. what wud be ideal for a nepali student with quite good scores? of course, i would be going only if i get a free ride.

Even if the college website says "they are SAT optional college,then don’t believe them -after all they will run behind the guy who got highest SAT than those who have very good GPA and very good ECA with excellent Essay.

Prepare a list of safety colleges -one that would surely accept you with full ride before making any hot colleges lists…

and do research well than just throwing applications to colleges -but before all GPA and SAT matters!!!

so do you think 15 is a good number, combining reach, match and safety? but the cost will surely be high to apply to more colleges, what with having to send the toefl and sat scores to all of them; and then with subject tests, i fear it’s all going to be a good deal of squandering

You could use attested copies of your scores.A lot of the universities do accept them.

do they? oh that would be a huge relief. thanks a lot for the information, i’ll research on that.

What SAT score would be necessary to be accepted by top 10-20 colleges and univ? does anyone have a rough idea?

hey, is anyone applying early and where? i think it’s a big risk.

There are no cut off scores but you’ll be somewhat safe if it’s 2100+(though SAT scores alone can’t guarantee anything)…and why do u think applying early is a risk???

Yes I am applying early definitely, won’t waste such a golden chance.
