Sorry, I’ve just seen county lists of FFX, Arlington, and Montgomery.

Gamom - don’t know if this helps.

I made a 219 in Tennessee, but I have yet to hear anything from my school. Who should I go to about this?

Tn5658…I would start with your guidance counselor. If s/he is no help, go to the principal. The letter with the info you need to log on and complete your application is sent to the school.

I’d like to see a list from Missouri–St Louis area. That’s were dd took the test, but then we moved out of state. We homeschool, so luckily the semifinalist notification was forwarded to us through the post office (received it just a couple of days ago). I thought I had notified them of the necessary address change, but regardless, it wasn’t made. The newspaper published semifinalists here, but dd wasn’t listed. Wondering if she is listed on the Missouri list.

Still looking for the PA list. It’s amazing how difficult it is to find something that has been released to the media two days ago!

If anyone finds the MA list, please post. No news from the school yet.

I think the media received it on Monday (if not before) with instructions to not release it until Wednesday. We saw a few media outlets (newspapers, school web sites, FairTest) release information before Wednesday, against the instructions from National Merit Scholarship Corporation.

Given that our school still had not said anything to my daughter on Wednesday, my wife called the local newspaper office. Sure enough, the full list had come in on Monday, but local area semifinalists would not be published for a couple of weeks. The newspaper office staff was kind enough to share the list for our state with my wife.

Not knowing your local media outlets, **@IntoTheWoods/b, I can’t predict if you would get a favorable result. Seems like it might be worth asking, though. Good luck!

I also can’t find the list for the State of Michigan. I even contacted our local newspaper but no response. Now that it is public knowledge, it should be on NMSC’s website for goodness sakes!

The cutoff for boarding schools in New England is 124.

If you live in a smaller town, it might be worthwhile to contact a bigger metropolitan area’s newspaper office. I’ve learned that our small town school’s guidance counselors hadn’t even received the same information that the local newspaper office did. I agree that NMSC should either publish all the state reports or contract some media clearinghouse to do it for them.

Our city’s newspaper every year publishes a story on the release date, including names of all NMSF from our section of the state. Until 2 years ago the online version of article included an attachment with entire state list. Last year no attachment and this year again. Yesterday I e-mailed the columnist whose name is on byline to ask about it, expressing that many people are interested in the entire list. People have friends and relatives all over state. I thought I should provide a rationale for why they should want to publish the list. She promised to look into it and add it if she can or get back to me in any case when she knows more.

Thank you, ILfather. I don’t think our local media outlets have published similar lists in the past either. Anyway, my NMSF was finally called in to meet with the principal this morning and given the letter. Like Devotee said, NMSC should have the entire list on their website.

It is hard to find the State lists. They may be coming out over several weeks.

It is easier to watch out for your own school and/or county when you google.

Does anybody have IL list?

You guys might ask the school. I work at the school and on Wed. we got a booklet from National Merit that had every state and every semifinalist name. I looked it over to see if any schools around us had any semi finalists and saw that my son was the only one in our rural county and gave the book back to the counselor. I called National Merit press dept. to ask what newspaper they had assigned to our little school since our town is too small to have a daily paper. They told me that they would send the whole Texas list to the paper that I told them was the paper of choice in our town. The National Merit people were very very nice and helpful.

Thanks, Texaspg, for linking the NOLA article. That is just for a suburban community on the northshore of Lake Ponchartrain. Appreciate the effort though!
