Hi guys!

I just got a notification that they'll send out decisions on March 22 at 11pm. Anyone applied there? What are your expectations?

Good luck!

I believe the notification will happen on March 23 for international students only. Regular decision domestic notification have not been announced yet.

Just got an email saying decision will be released Thursday the 25th after 6pm. The last decision out of 10 applications. Long wait!!

lol i’ve been rejected. ah c’est la vie, it wasn’t among my top choices anyways. i guess the prestige and the ranking doesn’t mean anything when accepting students.

good luck everyone! :)

Well luluzg, I see from other threads you’ve been offered a scholarship at Union and you’re also waiting for Conn…congratulations. If by prestige and ranking you are referring to U.S. News et al I am not sure whether these things are cast in stone. Experience tells me one ought to take rankings with a grain of salt. For others who do have Wheaton as one of their top choices I believe the College has a very good reputation in New England. Certainly in my part of the world in the Far East I come across a great many people who know Wheaton well. Good luck to all those who want to go to Wheaton.

REJECTED (international). Wow, the letter didn’t start out as a rejection. They said that I was a very qualified candidate and that I fit in well, blah blah… Suddenly I got to the part saying “Unfortunately we can not offer you admission unless you up your financial contribution”. I have nothing against Wheaton but I’d rather go to another school than increase my contribution. Congrats to those who got in. For the rest, hang in there

@tchy

yes I was referring to U.S. News. So far I am admitted to Union (and Mount Holyoke but declined it coz of the finances) and waiting for decisions from Bard, Bates, Bowdoin, Connecticut and Hamilton. I am not bitter but I applied to Wheaton as my safety but I guess there are no safeties for int’s looking for FA.

@mossesgetch
Sorry to hear that. Hope some college will meet your need.

Congrats to everyone who is admitted, if you choose Wheaton I’m sure it’s gonna be a right decision. :)

Accepted!!! But no merit aid, so doubtful I’ll go because I did get money at several other schools. Good luck to everyone!

Regular decision as a Balfour Scholar (17,500/yr)

Accepted! Idk if I will go there, though.

Accepted! hahaha i forgot that i even applied here :P

Accepted as Int’l applicant…with FA, but the total cost is still HIGH…Geez Idk it I could afford the remainning still

If it isn’t affordable, guess it isn’t worth considering! Once these schools go up to about 52K/year & don’t respond with more grant money, how is it possibly worth it? If there is a gap and they don’t meet your need, then consider going someplace else! And how will they meet their yields? Usually about 30% from those who they offered admission! They need to fill those classrooms with those warm bodies, but if the money isn’t forthcoming, then obviously accepted applicants will go elsewhere!
