Class of 2014: Waitlisted

^It helps a lot. Thank you!!!

A young man and I were accepted off the wait list last Thursday… I am told that makes 7 from our senior class of 180, I believe all 7 of us are attending… 4 guys, 3 gals, one from each of our seven dormitories…

When do we hear back from them again?

In the email they sent a week ago, it said: “I’ll be in contact with you again towards the end of next week, with my next update”. So, it should be by the end of this week, i’m guessing probably tomorrow, maybe Saturday.
Dang I’m so anxious, got rejected from the Harvard waitlist yesterday :[
Let me move on already!!

By MIT’s time, it is now the final hour of Saturday, yet still no news/email. hahaha
haha…
ha…
hahaha…
:(

Well that’s just great…

Wow, come on already. We’ve been waiting forever… and it seems like this thread is dead too. Did everyone get accepted off the waitlist except for me? D:
Jeez… they said they’d contact us last week

aah this makes two of us now. Where IS everybody?!
…patience my padawan…patience…

Be patient, everyone. From MIT blog

@ ALL

Hey everyone! I still don’t have any decision about if or when we might go to the waitlist for a second round, but given the comments I wanted to tell you that there won’t be any announcements about the waitlist today. So please don’t spend all night staring at your email. Go out and have fun!

I sent an update last Thursday, and I recieved a reply Sunday night. It said that they hadn’t even reconvened yet. So, we’ll just have to keep waiting. I don’t think anyone should complain, though. I mean, this is a second chance. I do understand the stress, though, hahahaha. Good luck everyone.

^My single data point is a friend of my son’s who was admitted to MIT from the waitlist. She would really, really like to attend, but her parents received no financial aid apart from loans, and now the family is talking with the FinAid office. Apparently one parent expects to be laid off from work in January, so the family’s anxiety level is really high on the one hand, but the parents’ current income level does not qualify them for need-based assistance. There are younger siblings who will also need help going to college. I’m not sure my son’s friend will be able to attend, but they’re still trying to figure it out.

Cases like this slow down the process, fwiw.

Could you post the link to that blog?

thanks!

Just got an email that decisions will be released Weds. June 2nd… Just 8 more days…

bumping because we hear sometime today

Yeah. Good luck to everyone. And, if it doesn’t work out, I hope everyone does well wherever they go, including myself. Thanks everyone for getting all the info together.

So, is anyone else out ther just chillin’ and waitin’? Because I’mgetting nervous. It was sent about four eastern time last time, so… We’ll see.

I am not waiting on MIT, but nervous for a friend of mine who is waiting. any news?

Well, everyone received an e-mail that final decisiosn would come out Wednesday, June the 2nd. But, as of now, nothing has come out. Usually, the e-mails from them are sent much earlier, which means the decisions could be pushed back. Not completely sure.
