well anyone thought where he/she will be applying EA?

Now have you, really? ;)

Oh yes.

for i in range(10*1000000000000000000000000000000):
work hard

P.S. I don’t think I’ll be applying EA. I’m already pressed for time to get these teacher recommendations out of thin air as it is.

''Une bonne compr

No earlier applicants from your school, python?

I am applying to US colleges next year, as well.
I am from the Netherlands btw!

Welcome aboard!

You forget, I’m homeschooled. :D

And hello there :)

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/asia-pacific/8001644.stm

^I was browsing the news this morning, and ended up reading this. Silly, I know :P

Pythons…I see a connection here :P

Hey, you’re the dude who got into CMU!

Congratulations - I’m applying there this autumn. It’s apparently a great university for Computer Science :)

But it doesn’t offer aid to internationals.

^ True dat (Ha, I got it right this time! :D).

How do homeschoolers get recs?

yeah I’m curious about that too! How do transcripts etc. work for homeschooled students?

Another question: Where do you guys all want to apply next year?
I’m applying to several US colleges, and to UK schools as well (Oxford PPE and LSE)

It’s America or bust for me.

No, seriously. I know I’m being a big fat hypocrite talking about how everyone should have a fallback closer home and stuff, but risky is the way I roll.

Maybe if I really do get rejected everywhere, I’ll scramble to send applications in at some local universities. Oh man, I just pwned myself.

@ tetrisfan - if it really is America or bust. why don’t you apply to some community colleges there? they accept pretty much everybody. you just have to find housing yourself.

Err…I didn’t quite mean it that literally. Like I said, I just pwned myself.

somehow I just feel so useless. I want to prepare stuff for college already but I don’t know what to do.

Hahaha… I still have my standards though… I mainly want to come to the US, because the education is better (oke, and I’d love living there etc. (thats actually more important))… So I’d prefer going to a Dutch university above a not-so-good American University. According to the Times higher education ranking, the best Dutch university ranks appr. 60th which is higher than Dartmouth (which I don’t really believe, actually. Or rankings in general, for that matter). And besides, I need financial aid (more aid at top-uni’s)…

On another note: I really can’t wait to -maybe- come to the United States! I’d love to go to college, I wouldn’t mind leaving tomorrow! Those campuses… Dorms! (We don’t have that here)… Amazing professors! … And all the courses imaginable! … Amazing peers…
<3

I’m such a stalker/lurker btw, I’ve even checked out the facebook groups of my first choice colleges (to see what the students are like), and I know their viewbooks and websites by heart… Meeh… I still have to visit though.

What are your favourite colleges?

I’m gonna apply to UCLA, UCSD, UC Berkeley, UCSB and UF. I’ll just see what accepts me. If I don’t get accepted I’ll just apply to a community college and then transfer after my first year.

Ratboy90 (…?!): You can do a lot already! I don’t know if you already took your SATs or TOEFL, you could study for those… You could try to pursue more EC’s (Extra-Curriculars)… Get high marks at school… Maybe even start to think about your essays already! And pick the colleges you want to apply too, and learn stuff about them (for fun), draft a nice list of safeties, matches and reaches… Look for scholarships… etc. etc. Endless opportunities!
