lol 10 char

Lets just say that I scored very, very high :).

Hey, I say - the more the merrier :D. Either way, Brits and Indians don't compete against each other. Even if they did - again - the more the merrier :D.

I'm getting too nervous about the SATs...first time taking in May...I dunno how I gonna cram in 2 SAT 1s,2 Subject Tests and TOEFL in like 6 months:(

Well, for what it's worth, I got 680 on Writing, 720 on CR, and 780 on Maths on a test paper a while back (I'm doing the SAT this June). However, since I'm homeschooled, there is almost no point comparing a lot of what I do to another student; I guess I'm one of those "well lopsided" students the Harvard admissions page talks about.

They should admit both of us, lol (if I apply). That way, Brown will have two lovely students gracing its hilly grounds: one half-Malay, half-Pakistani with a British accent, and one Tetris fan from India.

(I'm assuming you still like Tetris). :P

@smartchap: I'm planning to do the SAT I in June, Math II and Lit in October, Biology and Chemistry in November, World History in December, and possibly a foreign language in January. We can cram together :)

smartchap: I don't know. I thought most of the 650-ers were URMs or legacies but it turned out there were quite a few white males among them so...but let's not take it out of context, maybe the 650-ers had outstanding essays and extracurriculars that outshone the academic qualifications the perfect-scorers had? Either that or Brown was being nice. I don't know! What subject tests are you doing?

Isn't Brown supposed to be environmentally active? I don't think they're JUST politically inclined, I think there's a huge population of activists who like standing up for what they believe in. But then again I haven't done much research on Brown yet so I'm likely just being drawn in by the stereotypes!

I''m doing a test everyday...Math so far has been great(we do much more than the scope of the SAT),Writing's been OK,but CR is really hard for me

@Quasiprofound:

I'll be doing Math Level 2 and Physics/Chemistry...coz I wanna do engineering:)

Anyone applying to Cornmouth, lol?

(Google it online, if you haven't heard of it before :D)

Can you do a subject test for the first time in January? I think I read somewhere that you can't do the SAT I for the first time in January but I'm not sure about subjects.

I think I'm going to try and do the SAT I and Literature in June. Then World History and.. French? In October. How am I going to get good at French over the summer? Hmm.

Have you guys been reading the decisions threads? Yale was kind of brutal! :( But Brown gives me hope.

I've only read the MIT and Harvard RD threads so far.

I don't think its possible to do any test in Jan ,rite? As most unis deadlines finish Dec31

I have the exact opposite problem. Perfect scores in CR and Writing but a terrible score in math so I have to retake the test in June. Dang it.

Yeah but you can send in the SAT scores later. Jan is the last date you have for taking the SAT I and IIs for most schools if you're applying RD. portegueseninja, you can't do the SAT I and a SAT II together. You have to do the SAT I separately although you can do up to three SAT IIs on one date. python, what's Cornmouth????

I've been reading the Harvard threads. Feeling nauseous. Decided to stop doing that.

@portugueseninja-"World History and.. French? In October." World History can be given only in June and December its the only subject test that happens twice a year.

Search Cornmouth College up online, and click on the "U n i g o" (CC won't let me post the name properly) link. :D

Sorry I meant US History. And dang! I forgot about the subject test on the same day thing. That's annoying.

Cornmouth? Is that like the Oxbridge of Cornell and Dartmouth? :P

Ooooh haha found it.

The SAT is easy enough with enough practice - familiarity breeds comfort!

I wonder exactly what difference SAT scores make - how much will a 2400 instead of a 2100 improve one's chances?

I guess that depends on how the rest of your package is.
But the admission rate definitely increases with an increase in your SAT score; the Brown and Princeton websites have statistics backing this.

Not much when it comes to the less selective schools; a lot when it comes to the Ivies and the like where there are so many applicants also with perfect GPAs and crazy extracurriculars.
