Woah woah woah. You guys did not just insult the best place on earth lol. Yahoo isn’t exactly known for journalistic accuracy. The list seems to have the densest populated states as the worst and least densely populated as the best.

Who said we were insulting it? Maybe he was just stated a fact or his rather much not need opinion and also I find yahoo pretty much accurate, so far.

I was joking…I’m not that offended by people saying something about a state…and yahoos kinda known for bad writing.

So does that make yahoo the new wiki?

That’s fine, because that list came from 24/7 Wall St., which you would know if you read the third sentence of the article.
Here’s what it says:

“Every year, 24/7 Wall St. conducts an extensive survey of all fifty states in America. Based on a review of data on financial health, standard of living and government services by state we determine how well each state is managed. For the first time, North Dakota is the best run. California is the worst run for the second year in a row.”

The list is he best and worst run states not the best place to live. I personally would go insane living in North Dakota. And frankly plenty of Midwestern people want to go move to California or New York. I’ve never heard anyone in California say “I can’t wait to get out of here and go to North Dakota.” But really I like t here and that’s all that matters. If it really is the worst run state, don’t run from the problem, fix it.

The only reason why someone would want to move to California or New York is only because of its publicity. For example California is known for its beaches and celebrities same thing goes for New York; its known as the city that never sleep. I guarantee you if North Dakota had as much publicity as California or New York people would want to go there.

Well from a company’s point of view, they make a lot more money by moving out of california, which in turn creates higher unemployment in california since less companies are hiring.

Has nobody in the US heard of loans? The majority take them for the whole of their fees and some maintenance costs as well here :)

Yes and do you know what happens after college? The loans add up and you start paying them off. Who wants to leave college with an giant bill hanging over their heads?

Really, the ONLY reason? Hardly. Maybe many do, but that’s not the ONLY reason. I’m sure people move to CA or NY for many reasons:

-Job offers
-Getting stationed there in the military
-Family is there
-They visited and like it
-etc.

None of the reasons I just listed is based off of them being two “famous” states.

But it does happen. Of course no one wants it, but it happens.

People move here because its really centralized and there’s a very large variety of jobs. Most every corporation has some sorta office here. We also have higher wages, which is equivalent to a higher cost of living. And yeah the beach and weather is nice; I wouldn’t blame anyone for moving for that. Loans are inevitable and are gonna happen no matter where you go to college. And let’s be honest, any of you would pick stanford over university of North Dakota.

Okay maybe not the only reason but its more likely the main reason the majority of the people look at- this is only my opinion based on what i know not from facts.

Actually, I know two brothers who are from ND, so that might be a possible college choice.

Bu yes, I would pick Stanford over U of ND.

North Dakota might be a little too much snow, but the downside of going to college in a state like California means I’d most likely have to go 4 years without snow.

Haha none of that was directed you Cem, we’re homies lol.

Haha yeah I know, I was sort of having a side conversation with myself.

But the point of loans is to save paying for education until you’re reaping the rewards of said education eg a better job than you would have gotten without a degree. Seems to make sense to me.

Unless you don’t get a high paying job…

The joy of British loans, you don’t have to pay them back until you are earning a certain amount (my mum has never paid hers)
Unfortunately this does not help any of you. Maybe just be optimistic?
