Class of 2015 Results: Celebrate, Discuss, Support Here

my son got into Wesleyan U. today!!! so relieved it’s over :)

Congrats mommyg!!

Congratulations Mommyg! I’m so glad that things worked out. It’s time to go out and celebrate.

Congrats and Happy  Day to mommyg and s

thank you- just had heart-shaped sushi to celebrate.

That is the cutest thing I ever heard! Congratulations!

congratulations!!

YES!!! D got in to New Paltz. It is a frontrunner in my book but I had no idea if she was going to be considered competitive because of her specialized curriculum/program. D will go to accepted students day to keep me happy. It is the day before SUNY Albany’s (which she will also attend) so she will be able to really compare the schools. That’s all I can ask/all I want for her.

Kinderny~Congratulations to your talented Daughter . Hope she enjoys her visits :)

I am fairly new to CC, I wish I’d found you all ages ago! My D was accepted to Tulane last November with a $22,000 merit scholarship and an invite to the honors program.

She was a questbridge finalist but was not matched, so sent her application on through QB to Brown, Northwestern, Columbia, UPenn, and Stanford. She is waiting to hear from them in early April. I think this waiting is nerve wracking!

My greatest fear is that no where else will accept her and Tulane offers no other financial aid, so she ends up going to the local community college and living at home another two years…

bajamm - Glad to hear from you, and best wishes to your D! Congrats on Tulane!

There are many schools that are still accepting applications. If you think your D needs a couple of schools somewhere between the Ivies and community college, please go ahead and post a thread with some more information, and we’d all love to help you.

Good luck!

is there anywhere on this board where folks discuss specific financial offers made by schools? My d got into SUNY New Paltz and RIT so far and we havent’ gotten any financial info yet - so Im anxious to know what to expect… FWIW - our EFC was very low.

bajamm-

If you qualify for questbridge then you no doubt qualify for Tulane’s “no loan” assistance [Need-Based Scholarship](http://www.tulane.edu/~finaid/idxneed_NOLA_scholarship.htm) See you in NOLA!!

Thanks, Jym, for that info about the need based scholarship. One quick question, it does not mention housing. Does that mean it does not cover housing, or is housing included in the fee portion of it?

D got accepted to U of H, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, UT Austin (UG Studies), University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign, Purdue, Georgia Tech, and University of Florida so far. She is torn between Georgia Tech and UT. Any suggestions??

Georgia Tech is the higher ranked undergrad Engineering school of the two. But, try to visit both.

My son only applied to three Cal States. He checked his portals a couple of weeks ago and learned that he was accepted to Northridge and Monterey Bay. His third school was Stanislaus but they hadn’t posted a decision but he no longer cared. He’s accepted Monterey Bay and I’m thrilled because of the size and cost.

For those keeping stats:
ACT composite: 27 (his math scores were the problem)
GPA: 2.75 from an allegedly competitive school though I don’t know if the CSU people care.
Cal resident

I’ve been accepted to:
Roanoke College ($18,000 scholarship) - safety
Virginia Commonwealth University (Provost scholarship)
University of Vermont
Virginia Tech
Tulane University ($20,000 scholarship)

Still waiting (and nervous) to hear back from:
Wesleyan University
Middlebury College
UVA
William & Mary

SAT: 2060 (1390 on 2 part)
ACT: 30
GPA: 4.307
Public HS in VA

Good luck, alicat! Sounds like you made a great list and have some terrific choices. I hope you get more good news soon.

My son accepted at University of Georgia, Emory, Georgia Southern, and Shorter with scholarships & honors program at all 4. Decision time!
