**Class of 2015 University of Chicago Admissions Decisions Discussion**

Yes, it’s too late to send in new material.

yes i know… But it said someone sent in new resume on Thursday
and they accepted it.
They might consider it if they didn’t finish reading apps yet right?

No harm in trying, I s’pose.

I heard from a current student in Chicago that they have just finalized the list and are posting them TOM! :frowning:

Not sure if this is very accurate of course But he was supposedly helping with sorting applications and stuff (Just the folders, so they dont see any decisions)

oh my gosh really!!!
i am so scareeedd!!!
I just sent the additional materials, but I am guessing that will be useless now.

T.T

There were like 6960 applicants this year .
Does anyone know if these applicants are top top students?

Yeah, take that report with a grain of salt. Being a current student doesn’t mean you have some inside scoop on the admissions department. Besides, the students are all out on break right now, but the admissions department is still working, so the possibility of a student knowing what’s going on in admissions right now is incredibly low. Wait for UChicago to tell everyone officially when decisions are coming out. If I recall correctly, they announce it the day before the release decisions in a post and an email, telling what time decisions will be online by.

^^ChiCityStudent
They release decisions, but never announce it early. The email says “Decision are out”, so there is no warning.

I really hope they are tomorrow! I just got deferred from Brown :(

OMG Polyosophy, we are in the same boat. I am so nervous. I think I did better essays with Chicago, but you never know… sighBrownsighDeferredsigh

I was wrong about the email, but last year for RD, they posted the day before telling when decisions would be available.

The tension builds…

ahhhh I’m sooo nervous :(

Oh my gosh, I’m so scared, I’ve even been having anxiety dreams about admission.

Decisions will be released on Friday by 5:00
https://blogs.uchicago.edu/collegeadmissions/2010/12/early_application_decisions_av.html

@Neogop Thanks! Your speech was very inspirational lol  People like you should write reject letters because you’re very good at it, and I would thus be able to move on with ease. (haha please don’t take that as an offense. o.o)

Any word on the number of early applicants this year compared with other years (particularly last year)?

6960 applicants this year…about 18.5% increase from last year!!

so it’s definitely friday at 5? that’s like over 69 hours… hmph

@ac1981 : Thank you so much for the link, I was really getting worried about how unsure everything was! And thanks to everyone trying to reassure us very stressed seniors, but I think I’m just going to stay stressed until I find out about the rest of my EA colleges  (Acknowledging, of course, that this is a stress shared amongst Admission officers and seniors alike)

Oh, and about me submitting additional material so late: I obviously don’t recommend it now! I think I probably submitted it just in time for them to give me extra consideration (and was really lucky), so I hope no one else was turned down because of me.

UChicago, must you prolong our misery?

I see it says Friday on the website, but does that mean on Friday or BY Friday?

PS. @ManyMoons - I had the same plan for today, QI included! I thought I was the only one who downloaded stuff like that. -highfive-
